Man, love your channel! waiting for video about curves)
Harv Video/Audio Stuff definitely do the curve video!
A curve video would be super cool! I appreciate your videos, I'm learning a lot.
Always top content dude. I'm learning a lot with u. Keep with it
Hey, I felt like I had to drop a comment ! Just found out about you like a week ago, and I'm pretty amazed by the top quality of your videos, the clarity in your explanations but also and especially by your peacefulness, which almost feels like a blessing. Subbed, can't wait to keep going with you !
Another super informative and well-done video, Harv! As someone still very amateur I really appreciate all the side-by-sides and explicit pointing out of things to watch out for. It's helping me develop my eye and my knowledge of what to look out for.
Please, please, please do a video on curves!
Thanks so much, Harv. Huge help. Thanks for helping me slowly get better at video.
thank you so much that was very helpful

Fred Miller, Now can you please do this with all my other CZcams videos in my Watch Later list? 🙃
legend 💪🏾
Fred Miller u forgot 6:42 - Host’s shawty (or side chick) makes a guest appearance.
Harv, you are the man. You have made the best explanation EVER for these settings in the Sony. I have a big job in a few days and have been wresting mentally if I should use log or not, or just use nothing. And the 120 fps examples really nailed it. Thanks a million and I'm looking forward to watching all of your other vids. Cheers from Florida!!
Good stuff as always. Thanks Harv!
Very nicely explained. Love it.
dude, what a HUGE difference it makes after you grade it, awesome video
Your audio quality is just amazing.
Great vid, well-paced and hits all the interesting points! would love to see your curves methodology.
Great info! I just got Sony a7 III yesterday and I'm very excited to try and shoot in SLog now. Glad I found your channel!
Thanks for the great tips! Would love to see your curve workflows. The high frame rate tips is spot on, so much aliasing with the Sony high FPS!
Very good video explaining the topic. Too many CZcamsr talk about log files assuming viewer already have some understanding on that. I am a photographer who’s starting to do some video shooting. And my knowledge on log files has been like bits and pieces with a lot other information sources. Your explanation is so much better than a lot of other similar videos! Bravo.
amazing and super helpful video! I realized not long ago that curves was the way to go when you wanna add contrast, indeed results in a richer sort of contrast. Would love to see that video on curves!
Dude thank you so much. I just started using the a7iii like 4 days ago, did my own little comparison, and with indoor light and colors, S-LOG 3 outperformed S-LOG 2 and HLG IMO by FAR. Outside though was a different story and I didn't have the best of luck, but i will use the info i have now and continue getting it right. Thanks again!
Awesome Video Thank You, Yes a video on how you use curve will be great. I always run into trouble when shooting and grading Slog footage, and you did explain it really well, Thank You.
Been struggling to understand everything with my A7Sii and all its quirks and features, this was a great video, subbed!
I love these videos! Great information! Please show how you personally use curves!
I always make sure when shot log profile, need to know a total lighting, exposure, weather, and display histogram on camera, and this tips get more input knowldege. Thank you man
Thanks Harv!! Love your "to the point" style!!...subscribing now...
Amazing video! Filled in some crucial gaps in the why and how of LOG footage for me. Thanks so much! Subscribed.
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Thx for this video. First time this year shooting with an FS5 and S-log. I always shoot with Varicam camera's with V-log. Or shoulder type Sony XDcam camera's. This helped out me out so much. Didn't really know anything about S-log till now. Thx again.
Excellent video! Thanks so much.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Great man! Thank you for making this in depth tutorial.
Excellent content as always - and far beyond the plain vanilla stuff... I enjoyed it a lot 🔥💯🎥 A curves video would be very interesting too!
Great video Harv! Learned a lot, as usual ! Would love to see how you use curves.
Awesome Video!! i would like to see how you use curves . thank you
You do great work Harv. I've just now gotten hold of a a7Sii, and I'm trying not to be overwhelmed!
I found this video extremely helpful. Thanks Mate!
Thanks for providing great information
Great video!! Super helpful, subbed!
So helpful, thanks for doing this video...subscribed!

Thanks a lot harv, this information is so usefull
Thanks a lot for your video, so much clearer now !
Super informative since I just switched from a Canon to Sony. Thanks man!
I’d like to see how you do curves!!
I learn a lot from your channel Harv :D many thanks
Thanks mate very helpful !
tons of info! thanks man!👍
Thank you for this knowledge
Great video, thanks a lot!
Hey thanks for your tips. I just upgraded from Canon 70D to Sony a6500, these do help. Also your lighting setup is dope.
This is great and I would definitely like to see a video of how you use curves!
Would really like to see how you manipulate your curves for slog. Thanks for your hard work and sharing all of your work.
Thank you for the tips sir.
very good sir
Thank you, some very good info here! And about those curves... Yes please!!
Saw your lightning at backstage! Merry Christmas!!!
Great class, thanks a lot
No bullshit talk, no wasting time, great video. Keep it coming!
Great comparisons cheers!
This Vid & the Curves vid got me subbed....I have no idea who you really are .. but you seem to be yourself (natural) ... Like the relaxed vibe and the negativity free zone ;)
KEEP IT UP M8
You're great at explaining man
Great tips! Going to try out the logs on my vacation. Sending some sub love from Toronto!
Good stuff Harv. Helpful and informative. A vid on all the customisable options within the PP setup would be wicked. Nobody seems to want to explain the options in a deep dive. EOS HD is great but who wants to read a pdf 🤷♂️ - thanks 💥
So helpful! Thank youuuuuu
Amazing stuff my dude
Really informative video on SLOG! Any chance you have tried the HLG profile yet? Could you do a video SLOG vs HLG profile?
Whatsup man! Took your advice and tested Cine 4//120fps low light on the a7iii. Very pleased!
Wonderful, It's really helpful.
Great video. Very useful!
incredible video dude
I'm looking at buying a Sony AX700 and this video has been really useful thanks. Also love that it is a negativity free zone, wish more places were, both on the web and in the real world.
Thank you so much, you inspired me a lot! :)
Great video. Thanks.
This is so helpful! Been having a hard time but this helped me! #subbed
Yo man I make music videos and some commercials freelancing. This video was super useful. So happy to be using Slog. glad to find your channel! i subbed!
Very useful video. please do it about curves and LUTs
Thanks
People may say that s-log is pointless for 8-bit, but for Sony Alpha cameras in particular, the S-log profiles have the least amount of in-camera noise reduction. This translates to less ghosting artifacts from noise reduction, so that alone could be worth it. It get's you more luminance dynamic range even with 8-bit, just don't go crazy on the coloring.
Great video. Would love to hear your take on curves.
awesome video brother.
I think a great tip also, is tricking the camera into staying in +2.0 exposure. When you manually set your ISO while in S-LOG, Sony automatically sets exposure. When you set ISO to auto, you can manually set your exposure. So for clean footage, manually set your minimum ISO and maximum ISO (under auto) to the same number. For example -- I set my minimum to 800 and maximum to 800. This way I can set exposure to +2.0 (without it ever changing) and the ISO will sit still at 800.Thanks for the video, great tips. Good luck everyone!
amuse|workshop, doesn’t the S-log automatically bump your ISO to 1600?
on some Sony cameras yes. Some are able to bump up it only to 800 for a slightly cleaner s-log image.
but +2 exposure is not enough sometimes, as he says don't trust your exposure meter. if you look at the histogram i think this is true... seems manual exposure is the only way to do it right..
Great video! And curves tutorial please!
Thanks for the video Harv, can you do one for how to use curve in FCP.
Thank you for the video! Yes would you please do a FC Pro color correction video?!
AWESOME video!
Wow the color in this video is very beautiful
Tks! Nice tips bro
I am new to the photography/video game so any videos for helping me to understand how color grading / curves/ LUTS work would be great. I really enjoy your videos keep them coming.
The curves tutorial would be AWESOME!!
i second that
lol que haces aquí papu? soy sub xd
Alan 249 jaja 🤣
@@SONYAdicto :")
seconded!
Great tutorials. Appreciate you! Can you do an in depth similar breakdown of HLG - HLG3? Not a lot out there and since the A7iii is pretty much the camera of the year I think it would be highly beneficial. Thanks brother
YES! Do a tutorial for color grading please!
the rec 709 tip is so good
Great video! Yes make a FCP video showing how you tweak the curves :)
Hi Harv, I'd love the opportunity to see the way you color grade video. Thank you. Love your style.
Thank you so much. This is exactly the information I was looking for for days! Just as a sidenote...Maybe I didn’t quite get what you were talking about, but when you say „aliasing“ I think you mean banding or artefacting. Aliasing is a stairs-effect along edges caused by low resolution
Lovely video, very nicely explained. Would you please share what LUTs do you use to go from slog2/slog3 to rec709?
Good job
Wow! Now I understand why people complain about Slog3 being too noisy. They just don't know how to expose it correctly.
Thanks a lot :)
good video and really helpful
Many thanks 🙏🏻
Hmm, I shoot in 120fps a lot, and had lots of trouble with the grade in my most recent video project. Good to know, I'll just use the standard profile from now on!
GENIUS
The curves vs. contrast thing was a real revelation for me, since I always used contrast and sometimes the result felt a tad too flat for me.
Want to see how you used curves!
Wow!! You solved my ongoing mystery!!
I didn't connect the two together, Hi speed shooting with slog2 killed my shadows and I couldn't figure out whats wrong with my exposure instead!!
Oh gosh! Thank you so much for explaining that!
Yes! Glad I could help 💪🏻
SLog, SGamut, and Luts are all foreign language to me. 😩 I can’t wait till it all makes sense as I learn it. My CZcams videos are gonna be POPPIN!! Your monologue shot looks SO GOOD! 👌🏽Can’t wait to master my Sony Alpha S ii. I want all my videos to look like this!
Thanks a lot for the video... I am trying to learn and use SLOG as much as I can but a lot of our video is just a quick turn around but I have the Sony FS5 and like you said doing any high frame rate recording with SLOG has some really nasty effects.
