Fantastic cast as always gents. The text overlay on Crown of Seeds gave me a headache lol but otherwise loved it. My MtG buddies will also appreciate this video.
A list of the most versatile powerful cards in the game shouldn't include cards that are locked into specific heros. Crown and striders are great, but they are only available to 2 hero's each (three I guess if you're emperor?). I would have changed the list and added Pummel and Razor's edge.
One thing missed during the CNC talk is the fact it can be buffed by pummel. Blocking to protect the arsenal card takes two cards, being buffed by pummel and hitting results in a lost arsenal card and a discard.
^ I came here to say exactly this. Maybe I’m missing something, but isn’t Storm Striders just a 1 use Spellbound Creepers? (Albeit, with arcane barrier 2). I feel like being able to get 2-3 uses out of the Creepers is certainly more powerful value wise than the one use of striders along with arcane barrier of 2.
@@FlawlessDesigns1 Striders is to present damage on the opponents turn AFTER we strip their hand in ours and redraw up. Where as Creepers are used as an action point in our own turn! Big difference in playstyles but apparently might be close in powerlevel? I never really considered it 😅
Idk e strike always feels so iffy to me. Ive tried it in a couple decks and unless im drawing, it never feels worth it and even then i think about it being a worse snatch. Yes it has a lot of option and a good block value, but going down that one card can just feel really not worth it a lot. Plus i feel like 3.5 points of value for cards spent doesnt make it better than a lot of archetype stuff as these are typically allow to have higher value. Like, i'm sure this sounds crazy to a lot of people but just coming from other card games, going minus 1 just feels really bad
ahhh that's a really hard question to answer, everything has counters put usually its in the gameplay instead of a straight up 1 for 1 card trade if that makes sense!
Honorable mention- Carrion husk, Oasis respite, Pummel. Disagree with the nerfing arguement tho... wizards can come off the top or arsenal on opponents turn, that in itself is extremely powerful, spells like reverberate or others can be strung together as well that way (kano off the top, and Iyslndr, blue spell plus waning plus ... metacarpus? Plus???) point being they can kill you in the final exchange like that. That IMHO is the reason for the loss of health, not storm striders.
I can see your argument, but all of the non-striders ways to play out hands in opponents turns are heavily restricted, as opposed to activating storm striders and 100% being able to dump your whole hand for 10-100 damage very easily!
how on the first card did you forget to mention armor can be used to block? you were like if theres no defense reaction thats 2 cards. onto number 8! like wtf?
Is there ever a situation where you want to hit with Snatch at the end of your turn? You're just drawing back up to 4, I don't see that being a very useful play.

it isn't LITERALLY 7 damage, it's 7 points of value. drawing a card can be considered roughly 3 points of value, since it can, at worst, block for 3 most of the time. they go through the "points of value" explanation quickly, but that's more or less what they mean. their "points of value" are a touch relative, but it is a very strong card regardless.

@@necrongaming7557 So, his attack reaction only requires a card to be in your soul. there's a handful of cards that will put themselves or other cards into your hero's soul when they resolve, and you can ofc also do it by charging. The only requirement is to banish the card, in the reaction phase, and for the targeted attack to meet the requirements. It's a separate ability from the earlier charge ability.

Completely disagree with Crown of Seeds. Is it efficient in Oldhim? Yes. Arguably too good. So is lumina ascension in Boltyn, revel in runeblood in Vis, three of a kind in ranger. For a card to reach the 'power' list, it must be so great that you'd consider it in every deck it can be run in. Seeds does not see any play in Briar, which makes you wonder how broken it is, compared to how busted a combination of seeds, rampart, and hero d react is in every hand of Oldhim, making 1 cost instants/d reacts incredibly efficient. I'd guess in 3 years time, the power 9 will be closer to the following: tunic, rampart, new horizon, spellbound creepers, vestige of sol, carrion husk, flamescale furnace, crown of Providence, Mask of Momentum. CoP being great right now but likely being the least saught after card come 3, years time, replaced by storm striders. CnC and e-strike will both continue to devalue as card pools expand and there becomes less reason to build generic mid value plays into your deck when class cards allow you to break the card parity value so much more reliably. At least that's my guess, the classed L equipment matters so damn much in this game, it truly is our closest P9 equivalent.
