Excellent video on the Buckingham Palace. Though I was born and raised way on the other side of the pond in Fabulous Las Vegas, the royals hold a special place in my heart. God Save the Queen!

You've made quite an amazing blunder about the purchase and renovation of the house in 1761.
You correctly stated that George III bought the house in 1761 as a quiet residence for his wife, Queen Charlotte. You then say that the first renovation of the house was made in 1761 when the house was "acquired by his extravagant son, George IV." Interesting feat, considering the future George IV was not born until 1762, the only one of George III's children not to have been born at Buckingham House. It was George III who began the first renovations of the house after he purchased it for Queen Charlotte.
George IV began the transformation of the house into a palace in 1820 after he had finally ascended the throne and after much wrangling with Parliament.

Many viewers may watch your excellent video and go away thinking HM owns Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle + the wealth of historic contents of both buildings.
None of the royal palaces in the UK, whether occupied of preserved as historic buildings are owned by the Royal Family.

Good to see some history on the palace that many people think has been home to the monarchy for far longer. But John Nash's renovations for George IV happened in the 1820s, not 1761. (Hey, everybody goofs sometimes.)

Speaking of costs for upgrading and repairing BP, here's a video showing that the Royals don't cost as much as we think they do - in fact they generate a hilarious profit for the UK: czcams.com/video/bhyYgnhhKFw/video.html

In my honest opinion Buckingham Palace is lacking some serious curb appeal. It looks very dirty on the outside and the facade just falls flat. It's no wonder they asked for money for updates. I've never been a fan of any european castle that incorporates Greek architecture into it's design as it becomes a mash up greek and local designs that doesn't really mix well.

I'm afraid I stopped watching after you said that George IV inherited Buckingham House in 1761. He wasn't born until 1762 and he didn't get his hands on the house until the 1820s.
