Something went a bit under the radar. Luxembourg managed to end in 3rd place wit 17 point which is an all time record. They even gave Slovakia an absolute run for their money. The Laws of the game state the “a goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball with that hand(s) when: …holding the ball in the outstretched open open hand”. So in this case, the goalkeeper is in control of the ball and the attacker commits a foul, so an indirect free kick should be awarded to the goalkeeper.
