There is a fine line between freedom and dictatorship. Tiktok ban is for ties to china. Although I GREATLY despise OF and believe it is a cancerous platform, I don't believe it should be banned. @@typical_republican654 So many professionals that have devoted their lives to tech, have said that TikTok is one of the scariest data harvester apps EVER CREATED. Do some actual research. The PENTAGON FFS. with some of the most highly trained individuals, hackers, surveyors are telling you this app shouldn't be aloud here. At least with it's current background collections. Does No-one read TOS's or Privacy Policy's anymore, and not just there revised one's. But old ones as well. Let alone these apps that are not natively run in America, can just lie with almost no recourse about what there actually collecting on you. I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume you are way more addicted than you think. It's made that way, WAKE UP...WAKE UP...WAKE UP. The app itself told me to delete it. My own algorithm was feeding me videos of hackers, ex-data brokers, and back-end software engineers all warning me that the app I was currently using (TIKTOK). Was creating an AI model of my brain, watching my every move. To see what influenced my mood, what didn't. What kept me on, and what doesn't. How things made me feel, and how it made me feel.
I thought maybe they were stretching the truth/being hyperbolic. Then I started to read into it and do my own research, and yes. Almost all of that seems to be true.
If that doesn't frighten you even a little. Maybe my personal story from when I deleted my TikTok 4 Years ago will.
When I deleted my account. I thought like with almost any other app, It would let me delete my info No Questions Asked. NOPE...
The app proceeded to ask me why, which is not uncommon. Asked me if I was SURE, which is not uncommon. I said Yes, the app said "Please give us 30 days to have a special agent review your account for deletion". So I don't even know if my info was deleted or not. I definitely don't want to re-download SPYWARE just to check.
In my 22 years of life, and over a DECADE on the internet. I have NEVER heard of any app or service doing that for a content creator like myself. That is TERRIFYING.
Anyways, I know that was a lot to read and process. So I'll leave it at that. I hope you can get away from it, but I know you probably won't and my words are a lost cause, but at least I tried to warn you. Much Love, Peace Out!

I’m sorry, but the bottom line is the spread of misinformation on the platform vastly outweighs its potential good (and is therefore more important to consider, in my eyes). Since the misinformation clearly can’t be mitigated, there’s no alternative.
It's not even the spread of misinformation: Tiktok has actually been demonstrated to be able to mine information from other apps on your phone and send it off to Tiktok's servers. It's a serious invasion of privacy and a major security risk.

So, there's people up in arms about Tiktok... but monopoly of big pharma, skyrocketing costs of medical care, no provisions on the cost of university, the fact that some Americans aren't earning a livable wage, children are going hungry, inflation is killing us, the middle class is suffocating, there's lower protections on dangerous chemicals/gases by the EPA, privacy laws are laughable, our food is so fake and full of chemicals and GMOs that our bodies are sick, there's barely any worker protections/PTO, the public education system is failing, we're on the brink of WW3, aliens might be in our midst, AI is changing human civilization as we know it, people are going to be losing their jobs and livelihood, the world's ecosystem is changing, and yet.... tiktok is the thing that makes people react? REALLY??????? WAKE UP PEOPLE.

But that is only a small part of the problem. Its ToS is an trojan so any dumb kid that downloads and agrees to it gives it permission to attach itself to any device that connects to any router the kids device connects to...then there is the spying aspect of it that feeds information to the CCP.
It is literally a tool of the communist party in China. They use it to promote their agenda. They use it to spy and install Spyware on other devices. They use it to promote things that are destroying our youth and society as a whole. None of this is actually a secret and has been known and discussed for years at this point.
