- In today's Monday Muster we're tackling the differences between fear and terror, and how to manage both in our lives. Fear, though uncomfortable, is a natural emotion that builds resilience. But when fear morphs into anxiety and panic, it becomes terror which can paralyze us into inaction.
Drawing from my experiences as a Navy SEAL and entrepreneur, I'm sharing my three-step formula for cultivating an Overcome Mindset, empowering you to face fear head-on with courage and action.
Jason Redman spent 10 years as an enlisted Navy SEAL and ten years as a SEAL officer leading SEAL teams in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
During a special operative mission in 2007, Redman was struck by machine gun fire. It first hit him in the left elbow, then in the right side of his face, entering his jaw and exiting through his nose.
He had to undergo dozens of surgeries and now he's an internationally-known motivational speaker and author of the just-released book Overcome: Crush Adversity with the Leadership Techniques of America's Toughest Warriors.

Great explanation of fear vs terror.
Thanks Rob!
My biggest fear was going up on the flight deck for the first time and being surrounded by all these jets. My other fear was getting compfortable up there after doing it for awhile knowing the dangers. But I learned to use this fear to keep me safe. it gave me respect for the things that I did when I worked on the flight deck. Night ops were a crapper, but I learned to love it. Thank you Jason for your words of wisdom.
Thanks for sharing Mark!
Jay, great word today. Really good
