- In the latest Stuview TV Rewind quiz, can you recognise 25 British comedy stars - past and present - as they were before they were famous? You've got 10 seconds for each comedy star. Some are instantly recognisable, while others may surprise you!
Best of luck and enjoy the quiz! - Zábava
Lee Mack's the one that really freaked me out! I can't _believe_ how different he looked in his youth!
Quite a few "Before they even finished primary school" in here :) A really good selection and very surprising on many of them - Rowan Atkinson really bowled me over.
Ricky Gervais 'comedy star'? One day, it will be realised that the Emperor has no clothes.
You are so funny, you should be on the stage...scrubbing it.
There have been a few comments questioning the comedic qualities of Lenny Henry, I disagree with them, although I have never quite understood what Ricky Gervais was all about, he seems so conceited somehow.
Lenny Henry is a comedy star 😃 You could have fooled me.
I recognised the cat from those Whiskas ads ;)
I surprised myself as I got all correct till question 11. Then it was hit and miss. 16 in total. I recognised most but could not remember they're names. Thanks I enjoyed that.
A rare British quiz, well done! Recognised loads, knew their roles but cr@p with names
That Peter Sellers pic as a kid was a brilliant one to put in.
I got him but not four others.🤦♂️
Great quiz thanks again Stu I had 13/25
Martin clunes one was the easiest 😂
Rowan Atkinson? 'Fro'-an Atkinson, surely?😁
Ahem... I'll see myself out...
Wonderful, as your quizzes always are. I especially liked number ten, I was like "not sure who that young man is, but he's damned handsome" And then I got it, and I was so surprised, I was like "I've never fancied that guy in my life". Although he was great in Robot Wars. For you and your wonderful brain ❤️
That's great, thanks!
Loved this, it’s lovely to see some of them, especially Rowan Atkinson. All right, except Peter Sellers
Well done. I missed 4. Incl 15 who I said was Biggins!!
Rowan Atkinson: I keep thinking of Margaret Thatcher.
I only got 9
Oh dear I got only 17! Some of the pre school ones were hard!
There were some tough ones in there for sure!
All except Peter Sellers and John Cleese. Going to do the second one now.
Great score!
Hello Stuview. I have just subbed to your channel and l love what I see. Awesome. I will be binge watching your videos. Thankyou for a unique and nostalgic channel. 👍👍👍
Many thanks Ray! That's great to hear. Glad you are enjoying the videos and the nostalgia!
Missed Eric Morcambe, Sidney James, Spike Milligan, Tony Hancock, Arthur Askey, Peter Cooke, Dudley Moore, Eric Sykes, Charlie Drake, Frankie Howerd, Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Billy Connerly, Tommy Cooper, Norman Wisdom, Kenneth Conner, Bernard Bresslaw, Hattie Jaques, Warren Mitchell, Michael Crawford, George Formby, Gerald Campion, Alastair Sim, Dick Emery, Marty Feldman, Reg Varney, Terry Thomas, Ronnie Barker, Jimmy Edwards. Plus loads more
All great names but I can only fit a certain amount of people into one quiz! There will probably be a sequel to this one in the future, so some of these names may appear then.
Pretty hard. Got half at best. Some knew the face not the name. Others not a clue.
Ronnie Corbett, before he was little.... ;-)
I honestly thought that June Whitfield was Matt Lucas.
I remember years ago, early 70s, when the black and white minstrels were on t.v. one of them only needed the white make up, it was Lenny Henry.
Why was Lenny Henry in a comedy quiz?.
Some were very easy, others not so much. Lee Mack surprised me.
Got quite a few wrong including Lee Mack, John clease and Ricky Tomlinson
Loved it but should have put the pics side by side when showing answer.
I may well look at doing that for future similar videos. Thanks!
Got them all except jasper Carrott
He was one of the few I actually got right!!
In that picture he looked exactly the same as when he started appearing on TV.
@@jerry2357 Indeed he did, in his Funky Moped days
Very tough couldn't guess any
oh dear only 17, I can't blame it on American actor recognition this time!
managed to get 14, I recognised the faces , but couldnt remember the names until they showed it, great fun though
16
That had me to.... Remembering the names. Had we had only 5 secs to answer my tally of 16 correct would have been about 10.
I started so well, then....not so good. Great quiz, thank you.👌
Thanks Keith. Glad you enjoyed it!
David Jason still looked old even when young bless him
Very hard to name them all. Little sting in the tail . In that if you are comfortably old enough to know them all, you will be doing well to remember where your kitchen is.
Is that the youngest photo you can get of Eddie Large must have been taken a week before the surprise one 🤣 never got seller's ,Cleese ,mack or June Whitfield, Barbara Windsor one was easy her face hasn't changed one bit great stuff
8 wrong. Thought peter sellers was robert hardy!
Think I did pretty well for an American!!!!! Big love.
Well my grandma would probably have done better - when did Martin Clunes get the young John Cleese ears grafted?
20: totally surprised me.
Great fun!
Lee Mack finishing 3rd in a John Turturo lookalike contest. John Turturo finished eighth :-)
10/25
most of them were easy enough. a few I didn't know, somebody Butler and don't know who Lee Mack is anyway.
I got 75% correct. Sellers… not a chance.
22, not bad😄
Got 17 out of 25.
Lee Mack might not like that photo 🤣🤣🤣
A picture of him looking like that was shown on an episode of "WILTY."
@@colinharbinson8284 He was practicing his stand up, if I remember correctly.
Thought number 16 was Ricky Gervais. 😅😅😅
12,better.
I can’t believe I didn’t get Felicity Kendall - I saw her in Anything Goes last year!
She still looks the same!
I never like felicity Kendall since the day she sent her 7 year old to boarding school:-(
Some tough ones there
The first one threw me... I thought this was comedy stars.
got 19 out of 25
would never have got lee Mack or Rowan Atkinson
I thought Rowan Atkinson was Mary Whitehouse :-)
Only 18/25
USA comedians before they famous
I'll add that to my list of ideas for future videos. Thank you!
I forgot Lenny (bloody annoying) Henry was a star,as even in Tizwas as a kid I found him bleeping annoying.
Join the club! I had the misfortune of seeing him in his one man show just before lockdown. Two hours of him reminding us he is black! 😴
@Fus149 Hammer
It’s tiresome isn’t. Nobody cares what colour someone’s skin is just be funny
@@JackSmith-kp2vs The irony is and even he doesn't get it is that he got where he is BECAUSE of his colour.
I'm old enough to remember his first appearance on New Faces. His impressions were rubbish, his act was rubbish and there were any number of amateurs lining up to do bad impersonations of Frank Spencer and Tommy Cooper but he stood out because he was black. If he was white he'd probably still be working in a factory in Birmingham. His gain our pain.
@@fus149hammer5 Yep. A lot of the characters he did in his early days were stereotypically black, and yet, now he's financially comfortable, it's somehow wrong for any up-and-coming comedians to essentially do what he did, 40+ years ago?
@@fus149hammer5
Well, for what it's worth, which is no more nor less than yours, I've always found him very entertaining - and a nice bloke what's more!
Should probably rename it comedy stars before you were born
Comedy stars then David Mitchell pops up!! That's a joke in its self!
You're so funny, you should be on the stage. The next stage out of town.
He gets his share of laughs in Would I Lie to You,
I got 17 right.
Well I got 21. The ones I missed were 25, 24, 18 and 15. I won't say who they are as that would spoil it but I thought 15 was Biggins!
That's a great score as it's quite a tough quiz.
@@stuviewtv well i am very old and i have a long memory lol. I just love things like this. And it contained so many of my favourites. 😊👍
I thought 5 (Rowan Atkinson) was Chris Biggins.
@@appledoreman As Roy Walker would have said, It's great but it's not right!
Lee Mack looks so different - he looks like he had an eating disorder in his youth. Most of the others were pretty easy. Don’t tell Ricky Gervais, but I thought he was a pretty little GIRL! I was shocked when his face popped up. 😳
Yes i recognised Martin Clunes too from that very early baby photo but David Walliams was also instantly recognisable, as was Ronnie Corbett, Victoria Wood, Barbara Windsor, June Whitfield was such a beautiful child!
Its odd how some stars looked nothing like the child they once were yet others havent changed one iota
I couldnt place Pat Hayes or Billy Connolly, or John Cleese yet David Jason was no different to his adult visage as was Bob Monkhouse
Love these before they were famous quizzes
Thank you indeed for letting us participate & ive done well, score wise in parts 1 & 2
Thanks again, more please
So glad you're enjoying them! I've got plans to do some more like this over the coming weeks as they are proving to be popular.
13/25 scored. Not good at all.
Only 2 wrong
Since when has Lenny Henry been funny?
Can’t stand him he’s so left wing
@Happy Cynic.
I can’t remember a single thing he’s said that I thought was funny. Even the young ones couldnt make him funny and that’s saying something
He was great when he was on Tiswas in the 70's.
I scored 11 this time. p.s. Was the intro music the first Central Television?
Yes indeed, it's the old Central TV ident music.
I got them all right apart from the first one which I realised was a trick question because Lenny isn’t a comedian.
*Applause*
Miaow
David Walliams isn't a comedian
