This is already badass with just Ike and Zelgius, but give some credit to Tibarn as well. Man is reasonably and justifiably pissed at Zelgius and wants his head, but he has the calmness to hear both out and decide to let Ike carry out that revenge for him too, knowing that for what he went through, its far more personal for Ike than it is for him.
he killed him cus greil was his master who trained him in the ways of the sword, and he was angry when greil left daein and he also wanted to defeat him so he could prove he was better than him..im pretty sure thats why
He wanted to prove to himself he was better than the man who taught him swordplay, but was disappointed in the fight. Only after Ike told him greil cut the tendons in his arm did he understand why the fight went the way it did. He let ike become as powerful as he did so he could face off against the one who learned everything Greil knew, to fully test himself. Read his wiki if you want the full story he's a great character
