I used to work as a housekeeper, and taking disposable things like shampoo is perfectly fine, but taking things like towels, blankets, or irons (all things we've seen people take) aren't since that's weird and not an expected thing for us to completely replace. We had a face cloth shortage because people stole them faster than we could buy replacements, leading to us waiting until laundry was done to sprint around and put washcloths in rooms or just close the rooms without them.
At least, just take one time use things like soap, things that are going to be thrown in the trash can once you've left 🤷♀️
