    So P0303 is the 3rd cylinder or the third cylinder in the firing order?

    • @eduardojdm-cb9un
      @eduardojdm-cb9un Před rokem

      In this cade, both, only 4 cyl cars have cylinders in order, 5cil and above you have to check order

    Im still getting P0303 code after changing plugs and coils, rough idle when cold but when its warm its fine. My next thing to change is the injector. thoughts?

      Mine is the same.. Did you figure out anything else?

    • @UGRagtop
      @UGRagtop Před 3 lety

      Sounds like the failing intake gasket. Mine does the same and I have also attempted the same fixes as you. My thoughts behind it being the failing gasket are that metal will contract/shrink when it's cold causing the failing gasket to leak, when it warms up the metal normalizes in size and the gasket leak seals (until the engine cools again). Going to try putting the new gasket in this week. This video was extremely helpful. Gaskets only $20 - $25 by the way.

      Just an update. I replaced the valve cover gasket yesterday (mistakenly said intake gasket before). When I was disassembling the top of the engine to remove the cover, I noticed oil down in the bolt holes of the cover next to the spark plug tubes. Gasket definitely failed, so that was a vaccuum leak for sure. I drove it this morning on a cold start and no misfire! Drove about 100 miles today and it felt like a new engine. I'm hoping this corrects it, if not I will be replacing the PCV valve and cleaning the injectors. If that doesn't fix it.. I'm afraid it may be something more serious like a multi air actuator.

    I'm hoping someone answers me. Would bad valve cover and spark plugs gaskets cause knocking? Also, my gaskets are hard like plastic. Ive gotten tons of useful info from y'all, but not sure I've ever gotten a response. Please help! 🙏

    • @TadhgerLily
      @TadhgerLily Před 7 měsíci

      They wouldn't cause knocking directly, but over time bad timing due to bad spark plugs and overheating/ not not lubricating properly from a leaky valve cover gasket will definitely lead to damage and cause knocking

      @tadhgmonteith2590 I was cruising along interstate when my car suddenly went into limp mode. My buddy came and pushed me off the bridge with his truck. He asked me once safe to try starting it. It cranked but was knocking. First time I ever heard a knock. I then checked the oil and it was bone dry. I got some oil in it and got to parts store. Did an oil change in the parking lot and added some Blue Devil. Knock seemed to go away. But then again went into limp mode. Started overheating. I have codes, most are indicative to oil problems. 1 was misfire on 3. No metal shavings in oil though.
