  • Great progress on rebuilding the old Lynton and Barnstable narrow gauge railway in north Devon. A ride in first class style on one of the superbly rebuilt original carriages and Isaac struggles to get up the hill into the station. The long wait for LYN is nearly over and should arrive later this year. Woody Bay Station EX31 4RA

What a great place! I love it. The red call box looks good, but no blue police box...or is it a Tardis! LOL! Regards, Solomon

My grandad re painted that red telephone box there. And one of the lever frames comes from my old villiage Halwill Junction

Watching Isaac struggle up the hill at the end makes me think that you need a bigger bucket of sand!

Wow that really was a struggle! Did you not fancy the can ride for £20 then? Well filmed video of a great day out. Thanks for showing us.

Yes I nearly did but I was wanting to go to pecorama that same day.The crew nearly got a round of applause after getting Isaac into the station.

What was the station between 1930s closing and the fairly recent deactivation of the railroad?

Early in the clip it appeared that they were watering the coal to keep the dust down. Now this is BRITAIN for goodness sake. Isn't there sufficient rain to keep things wet the whole time?

I think they're gonna need a bigger engine, alternatively do something about that gradient.🤔 😂
