That 1997 50 p piece is only worth 50 p,I have loads of them in my savings box,there are a few UK 50ps worth more than face value and,that 1997 50p is not one of them,I know the value of UK coins because I stay in the UK 👍

Just a word to the wise, there were two 50p coins issued in 1997, firstly the old type large 50p coin and secondly the new smaller type 50p coin. I have both, and neither are worth £8,000,000. The large 50p had a mintage of around 109,000 I think, the new smaller 50p, 456,000,000+
