It is so irresponsible of these companies to send out fake news like this. Thanks so much for sharing.
Nothing irresponsible about it. If you believe that, you must also believe, selling anything which has a mineral value which is far below it's insinuated market value. Is also irresponsible?
An antique dealer once said to me " the value of an object , is what you can get somebody to pay for it " . Talking as a dealer he was hoping there were a lot of idiots out there with more money than sense .
Some people they don't give shit about price as as they happy with it and as long as coin is real...🙏🙏🙏
No.
The worth is what someone will pay
Value is a need to pay a worth
It's true. My friend almost gives things away regardless of what things are selling for on eBay. He does have the overhead of 5 lock ups
I do find it amusing to see these stories but sad to think some people are duped into believing their buying rare and valuable coins by unscrupulous individuals.
Great stuff Christopher & BCC 👍🏻
If I see such a large price range I would stay well clear.
They're, not their.
I have 2 how gonna Brought
I have one for 1997
Wow I just checked in my old coins pot - and sure enough I’ve a 1997 50p coin! Thanks for saving me from disappointment!
I’ve got one too
@@yousafkhanbikes
I’ve just found 2 in my purse, though I’ve just lost one of them down the side of my couch…. Wish I hadn’t bothered checking now. 😂
They are VERY easy to find in your change!
"Something is only worth, what someone is willing to pay for it"
I'm sure someone would be willing to pay big money for a can of baked beans if they were stuck on an island without food, and that was their only chance of survival it's a cruel manipulative dog eat dog world
Very true. A painting might be worth millions but if I don't like it or want it then to me it's worthless
@@stevea4771 Just the same as some people like to spread sht all over each other and pay insane money for the privilege
Too many people with too much money make things worth more than they really are … even now
@@johnanderson2419 Something is only worth, what someone is willing to pay for it. Inflation does not exist. It's a fabrication of the control mechanism. If you want to pay more for something, because someone indoctrinated you to a belief system. They you're willing to pay the new price. I rest my case
i spotted the "brexit" 50p in my change a few weeks ago and just thought i would try to find out if it was worth something...and i found one on ebay for £2k and another for £1.3k... i was astounded and then after a few days ...i had another.......about a week later...yep, another...obviously not that rare then.... but i hung on to it with other commemorative 50p's so glad i found your site (and your other one ) saved me a possible red face.. however i used to collect coins when i was a kid ( i always remember having a 1912 penny with a small H next to the date, i kept it for years...) so i decided to get myself some collecting books to store what i have, admittedly not a kings ransom. but some nice, interesting examples...thanks for the clear advice (on both sites) i have subscribed to em both.
Found one of these in the park today. Looked it up and saw the prices, hoped but didnt expect them to be legit and your video has confirmed it so thank you very much! Also noticed all the "sold" listings buyers are all accounts with ZERO feedback. Clearly a scam and trying to trick others and inflate the price. Its so bad what people will do to get money. I messaged 5 of the current and past sellers of this coin that apparently sold for large sums and surprise surprise no one replied!
Thanks again for the video and great work getting this information out there to people! If something seems too good to be true.......
it depends on what person feels an attachment to it or thinks that it has value, that's what gives things higher values
I have several larger 50p coins. All came from a branch of Lloyds bank in Somerset this year. I have also built up an assortment of coins from the last forty plus years from threepence, florins and sixpence coins etc to modern coins most of the old coins I got from our cellar that had a grate in the pavement over the years people dropped all manner of thing down it and when I excavated the floor for renovation the amount of coins found was staggering. I also found a lot of coins in an abandoned wool mill just down the road that I played in and explored as a child. Absolutely no idea if they are worth anything.
I had an 'expert' on 'ebay' once trying to tell me there are TWO different Obverses on the 1997 50p, and one is extremely rare!
I'm in a debate right now on eBay with one such person. I can't see the small difference apparently that makes the coins valuable. Either deluded or a vile little scammer!
Great information. Its always good to be informed with common sense. The prices some coins are advertised for is baffling.
I had a look at the 50p change I keep for the snooker light and have 5 'rare' 1997 coins !
I'm sure I remember an article with our friend Benjamin Bunny being worth a lot of money.. I thought I was the luckiest person on earth to have ten of them.😂
How do I sell my antic 50ps? Any help with directions would be welcomed. Thanks!
I have a 1997 50 pence coin....thanks for sharing the info
I've always thought those common coins on Ebay for crazy prices were money laundering schemes, what better way to pay someone with ill gotten cash than pay the recipient a ridiculous amount for a face value coin, hard to trace, easy to transfer overseas and anonymous.
I never thought about that and reckon your probably spot on.
I bought 1854 half penny beautiful it was a very good condition coin
When I think about the number of things people fall for, especially in positions of power and wealth, I imagine how easy it would be to obtain it from them. But then, I have to sleep at night.
That's Christopher collects he has his own channel . . I've been watching Christopher channel for a few years on and off but I didn't know about this one I'm so glad I got recommended to watch this . . I've subscribed 🎉🎉😊😊

Ok Christopher nice vid - thank you
I have some squiggles all over the front of my 1997 one, does that add any value or does that just happen over time?
Thank you 😊
I have 2 coins both only worth 50 pence
At least you are not vagrant if you got a pound .
hi got a 50p with dated 1994 ,with planes with gliders and ships at the bottom ,the 50pence is bigger then the modern 50p on reverse side ,the queens head with the letters just below queens neck RDM has the coin got any value thanks
That 50p is the d day landings 50p and the RDM stands for Raphael Maklouf the person who designed the queen's portrait, it's probably worth about £1.50-£2.00.
I watched one with someone wearing gloves handling a 1971 New 2p coin. I should be minted I have loads. I'm still looking for 72/73/74 or 83 would be nice.
Kew gardens coin sold on Etsy for bargain price. Added to my collection for some years to come
I got a 2009 Kew Gardens for £5. Never had one in change though! The 2019 Alphabet 10p's are THE rarest...
Ive had 2 of them Kew Gardens 50p's, it was back in 2016....
The “New Pence” coins were a bit of a story a couple of years back, wondered why the Shield 50p has the point at the base whilst most designs have a flatter edge at the base. 🤔
I've just bought a 1965 50 pence piece. Is it worth anything? The seller (a Mr Trotter)
claims that it's the only one in existence.
The 50p.s werent out till the early 70s if i remember..
😂
@@janwilson3898 He got it from a man named DEL!!
😂😂😂
@tribblebooth1224 ... Lovely Jubbly, you've struck it rich my friend, this time next year you'll be a millionaire. 😂
People are not been fooled as easiy now who would pay crazy prices like that
Yes I do own (2) 1977 and 2001
I have a dozen EEC accession 50p coins. Who do I trust to value them?
the bit I dont get is why are difrent amounts of the olimpic coins minted shouldet they of been minted, in a somrt equals amounts in a sort one for one they must known they where going to be collected?
Top vid mate 🎉
Hi I have five of these but new to collecting 1997 fifty pence
so are the bigger any more valuable then, its a bit hard to tell from photographed image what size they are?
How to sell this coin, and when?
I would hate to think how many 1997 coin’s we found. One time we found four🤣👌👍
You're not trying hard enough!
I had 9 ,1997-spent them 😊lol
Coins, NOT Coin's! Once, NOT One time!! You're like my stupid friend who says "My one", instead of "Mine"!!
I have 4 Greek’s coins where can I sell them?
The sad thing is, there are people who would pay silly money for a face-value coin. The old adage of "A fool and his money are easily parted" springs to mind.
You omitted to say that all of the examples you showed had "or best offer" on them. It is common for this to happen. And by putting in an offer you can quite often pick up coins for less money than other standard listings.
I checked the few I have left, after taking my 50p's into the bank to cash in a £100 worth, and 6 of them are 1997 lol
Wow very nice coin❤❤❤
Your funniest video yet😂
Could be money laundering.
The original Olympic Swimmer 50p with waves over the face you missed . Worth well over £1000. I won one at London Coins for £600 in the original Royal Mint pack about 6 years ago .The original die was recut to expose the face .These are worth....50p !
Nope. Worth 50 p
I'll give you 49p
I got 1983 50p how much is the value of this coin , please?
I've got 11 1997 50 pence. I've got 2008 and 1995 to

My partner and me have some rare 50p coins and £2 ones. He has a kew gardens one i know.
What are you calling rare 50p's and £2's?

Iv one and all 97 ones have extra metal on queen's shoulder just like yours
another problem is some have sold for 1000-5000 pound which are probably suspicious sales. some people may spot them and believe it is worth that much.
£1,000+ is all FAKE NEWS!
I got the 1997 50p and I have many different others
i remember seeing IoM 50p with legends like Phil Read and other winners are they not rare..? or was I mistaken those would be my collection
Some of the TT 50p's are rare, especially the large 50p's of 1996 and 1997. The 1998's and 1999's are difficult to find too!
How can I go about it, I have this coin in Malawi
What about the one of 1980...? is it valuable ...?
Hy sir that is coins have my pocket how I changed this coins you give me idea
I have some easy to find
Where does one sell it

I got that coin, 1997 50p queen Elizabeth £11,000
I have one of the same exact ones in picture, and I mean exactly the year and everything. What would it actually be worth
I just sold mine on eBay for £55,000

When I was a kid I could never find a 1978 10p piece why? I still don't know why so special
I thought the 1977 10p was the rare one. I'm sure I have a 1978, will have to check...
@@michaellooney1089 I'm sure it was the 1978 my uncle made me a bet that I couldn't find one and never did ?
No 1978 10p coins ever went into circulation. That's why you could never find one.
Why ? My uncle told that you would never find one I always wondered why
@@mickhopkins8036 ... Yes, no 10p coins were ever made for circulation in the years 1972 and 1978. Then none were made for circulation for 10 years between 1982-1992. So no 1972, 1978, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992 10p coins were ever made for circulation.
I have several key coins in perfect condition dates 71-80-81 among others.
I have this queen Elizabeth fifty penve 1997 is there interested to buy
Sad fact of the matter is many news papers just reprint these articles just as page fillers and more than likely don't bother to proof read the article 1st or update it & hey presto some unsuspecting reader comes along and falls for the click bait article (regardless if its an online article or printed).
I’ve got a 1983 UK 50 pence…
Yes I have 2coins of 50p
Where can i sale ths coin
Hi there I have 50p coins 1977 how much warth let me know please thanks
I have a load of these different apparent wealthy 50p pieces, is there anyone out there who can guide me to getting them actually valued? Rob
2009 Kew Gardens £100 - £200. Jemima Puddleduck (can't remember if it was 2016 or 2017, maybe 2018) £10 -£20 ish.
Some of these coins will carry double letters on the base of the neck, these will be the rarer ones, but still not that sort of value. There is a C-Series £1 Banknote that as the value of £300,000, but there is a reason why it such a high value, it's because it is the only known one that as the Red Ink paper run out mark, and will never be repeated, it should never have got into circulation, machine and eye checking never pick up on it and pulled it out to be burned, there is also a penny that is priceless because only 6 were ever minted and all 6 can be accounted for
Just went through my change pot and have 17x1997 Brittania 50p's does this mean I'm minted lol,Also 1x1998 and 1x2007
Any info 1953 QE 2.

I have a 1985 50p coin!
I think they (I have two) had a LOW mintage of something like 683,000.
@@michaellooney1089 ... 682,103 only were minted.
I have 2 coins 50 New Pence Elizabeth ll 1. 1969 ( 1 coin ), 2. 1980 ( 1 coin ), Good Condition, Thanks
I noticed that those Ebay listings said (in tiny print) after the jaw-dropping price "or best offer." Maybe some coin nerd with time on their hands could offer "50p" for those scam-priced, humdrum 1997 coins.
Well what are you waiting for?
Koliko kosta ta novcanica
i have that and a couple of more rare ones like tom kitten and more
i have a 1983 fifty pence coin and i want to sell it,,,, how can i sell it?
Ebay is a joke. Criminals just post these in the hope that some old person might fall for it. The commemorative versions are all up for sale for crazy prices, although I have most of them and they are worth 50p on a good day!
I lived in Bassett. On the high street. Always been a Wiltshire lad born and bread. Christopher your statement you said news outlets. Then referred to ebay. We all know ebay sucks and their sold prices are only based on averages over lets say 100 sales.when they recommend a price Everyone favourite words on coins to try and make money are scarce and rare. Simple answer is just ignore these mortgage prices for coins and reserch. Show where these news outlets please. Thank You
Yes I have one
I have 1997-1998-1999 50 pence" how yo sall? Gud pm ty.
👍👍👍👍💪
Is there a reputable site for checking coin values?
@stockra Thanks. I was duped on eBay with some gold plated Peter Rabbit 50p's. I bought them as a Christmas present for my partner, just something different.
I paid probably slightly over the odds , like you said though they are only worth what people will pay. I knew nothing about it. So £60 was a lot but I was willing to pay that at the time.
@stockra Yep I assumed without any checking. Theoretically it's a crime to deface coins in the UK I guess gold plating them doesn't count! .
Just uploaded my first video some beautiful coins on there if you like coins please have a look penny pincher
