  • Hi
    in this video, we are going to see how we can create, a charming moon and #flower simulation, using various techniques in #sidefx #Houdini 20
    the reference tutorial was created in Blender 3d
    first, we’re going to see how we can transfer our attribute and use the customer attribute to manipulate the pscale attribute, and after that, we are going to see how we can use distance from the geometry node to have a smooth transition
    on my Patreon , we are going to see how we can use copy-to-point in an advanced method to control flower growth

    the satisfaction someone feels when finally can understand a Houdini tutorial :)

    I'm not surprised when Houdini can do that, because that piece of software is crazy powerful for generative animation

      Yeah, that was my opinion too, hadi needs the most powerful 3-D package out there
      but the challenge was doing that in simple way

    It’s cool, simple and effective. I’d take it one or two additional steps further. First, maybe pass dist through a sop solver and fade it out over time. It’ll be a little smoother.
    Secondly, copy a bunch of lines and use vellum to deform them with the ball as a collider. This will make them bend, and then deform the flowers with their corresponding lines.
    Overall nice work 💪

      Yeah, I wanted to do the vellum and deformation, colliding, but I was afraid it would take so long for a simple tutorial
      and about the SOP solver, I didn’t honestly want to have a footprint-like effect, but yeah, that will be awesome
      thank you for your opinion. I appreciate it, bro.

    To get smooth transition (to make Radius in Attribute Transfer work properly) you just need to create the same attribute on target geometry with value=0, then Attribute Transfer will work how it should without Distance From Geometry.

    • @diyz3n
      @diyz3n  Před měsícem +1

      Yeah, that’s amazing opinion and it will work definitely
      But with distance from geometry, you will get both of that (an attribute and smooth transition)

    no bro, you are in houdini you should have added vellum to have the plant being distorted by the ball

    • @diyz3n
      @diyz3n  Před měsícem

      Totally agree with you I didn’t have time for that to be honest
      But should be amazing to have vellum

    nothing wrong but you could just from the start add scatter node. @pscale = @pscale *@dist

    • @diyz3n
      @diyz3n  Před měsícem

      Yeah, I didn’t use a scatter node before
      That’s why I want to explore some option
