"Apocalypse": Lukashenko warns Russian nuclear weapons deployed in Belarus

- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Thursday that “several dozen” Russian tactical nuclear weapons have been deployed in Belarus under an agreement made between himself and Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2023.
Though the transfer supposedly began last June, this marks the first time Russia has transferred nuclear missiles to a foreign country since the Soviet Union era. As a close ally of Putin, Lukashenko insisted the deployment was at his request, adding that Belarus is ready to “resist any aggressor and inflict unacceptable damage on [them]."
Lukashenko also reminded his audience that Putin will consider any attacks on Belarus as a direct attack on his country. “Russia will use the entire arsenal it has. It will be an apocalypse,” he said.
Amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Putin has repeatedly warned that the West's support for their opponent is putting it in direct confrontation with Russia and could even lead to nuclear conflict.

We know that many do not want to invade Ukraine and cause tragedy for both countries. 99.9% of Westerners have not ever considered attacking Russia to take over and steal resources or cause people harm, to reduce Russia's capacity to earn a very good salary and experience a quality life with access to everything that can enhance goodwill between Russians and the Western countries including NATO. It is a topic covered by many varied sources of news and discussed by lots of political leaders. We were on a pathway to enjoying access to each other's rich culture in the early 2000s and then Putin decided that he needed to start repressing his people and tighten control over freedom of speech. This is why the West had to become wary of his intentions. Now this man has threatened Western countries, in fact, the world with the effects of a nuclear strike. I cannot imagine that Russia wants to see mass casualties on both sides of this conflict that will also cause untold damage to the planet. Unfortunately, Putin has stirred up hate in the population towards Western nations as if they are evil and want to take over Russia. What a sad situation we are in after all that the world knows about tech, civilization, protecting our planet, and caring for human beings ..... we still have leaders that through ignorance and lust for power want to use war to grab what they can. Things may never be the same between the West, Ukraine, and Russian relations after so many have died, cities have been destroyed and this war has cost an incredible amount of money. What a waste on all counts.
I hope a day comes when people can agree to simply let others live their lives without the threat of war and destruction. Can we try to convince our friends that this could be the future for our children? Best wishes and may you not have to be dragged into the conflict and be hurt. You are the best of the Russian people if you value civilization, and cultural exchange and want your children to live in peace. The world has enough problems to address with climate change, starvation, shelter for all, racism, intolerance, education, and quality of life free from the evils of criminal world drug dealing and human trafficking. I sometimes wonder what is the difference between Russia and Ukraine? What if those two land masses hosted a huge variety of culture, religion and skin color like the u.s.? Where would the lines of dispute lie then? The differences viewed from afar are so minut compared to the melting pot of Americans. Russia and Ukraine seem to be the differences between a crow and a raven in my eyes. Though I have brushed up on some history recently and understand some...it's still a question I often ponder.
