Stabilization is very good. At long range you really need a tripod. I posted a Zoom Test video using the tripod. On my First Ride Of Spring 2024 vid I filmed some moose at 400yds freehand. My arthritic hand are shaky but the camera did good. Thanks for watching.
Quite an unusual subject for test footage. I recently bought the HC-V785 which is almost identical except not 4K. I was interested to see your review. The camera copes well with cold conditions - you have proved that! Thanks for uploading.
@@rawsonforever There's a new camcorder out in 2024 called the Easypix Aquapix WDV5630. It claims to be waterproof, shockproof. I have heard it is made by Panasonic, but I have not verified this. You might like to get one of these to avoid dropping your VX981 into the mud! czcams.com/video/6dW3D2ZRrvM/video.htmlsi=tn-MttblJjGNpbGT
Years back I picked up a Panasonic DMC-TS2. Still use it as a pocket camera. Tough, waterproof. About 4x zoom. It's out of production. A good replacement is the Olympus Tough TG-6. I don't shoot in 4k. It fills up storage space, takes forever to process and upload to CZcams.
WOW, very nice! The clarity was really nice when you did a full zoom. Bummer that your JVC broke, those things are not cheap! I looked up the price on your new one and YIKES, they sure aren't giving those things away!
I was very happy with the JVC but Tech constantly changes. Yeah their real proud of them. There's others with the same specs that are going for even more. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for review. I've been thinking of possibly buying that. The thing I was most curious about is the stablization of device.

I got it primarily for outdoor use on my trail rides. Posted another vid of the zoom test. Thanks for watching.

It's not up to the specs I want.
@@rawsonforever I have thought of getting one, but like you I think it is a bit on the cheap side. It is supposed to be 4K though!

Nice. I just got the same one
Hope it works out for you. Thanks for watching.
I shoot in 4K. I transfer videos unto a flash drive to save space on computer.
4k takes forever to process then CZcams dumbs it down to save bandwidth.. I use a My Passport Ultra for storage. Thanks for watching.
@@rawsonforever Good point about youtube.
