And What guy has ever given a fuck about if their girlfriend knows the rules of football or how the supercharger in their car works or why you use the fins you do on your surfboards...no one ever.

    Sam, this was an excellent presentation! Very affective and if there is something a person isn’t sure of, they can always go back and follow your instructions. Here’s something that you said, which quite frankly gets overlooked when a person is explaining the mechanics of the game; but you touched on brilliantly. If the offense is 20 yards from their own end zone, and they are desperately trying to gain a first down, which is 10 yards. The offense isn’t lucky and they are on their 4 down. You explained it perfectly as to why it may be strategically much better to punt the ball to the defensive team. Because if they try to go for it on 4th and 10, and don’t make it, the other team gains possession of the ball on their 20 yard line. You’re making it easier for the other team to score with just 20 yards to your end zone. No one else went over that point and I commend you for covering that key strategic point. 🤠

    • @SamuelGras
      @SamuelGras  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for the nice comment, whether or not to go for it on fourth down is one of the most important decisions for a coach, more and more in recent years in the pros at least , teams seem to go for it more often than in the past because offenses are so good now. Perhaps I’ll make a part II, or maybe try baseball , thanks

    My crush plays football and is really good but when I talk to him about it I’m always like what does that mean so I’ve been researching all night and a 5 minute video had taken me over 45 minutes because of all the notes I’m taking I’ve only watched 2:26 minutes 😂 Im really trying for him 😂 this is the most dedicated I’ve ever been to anything in my entire life! This is a great video thank you so much idk what I would do without you!!!!! :))))

    Any mom's here to learn this sport? It's more exciting knowing the rules or at least have midlevel knowledge. My son's are wide receivers. Yrs ago I couldn't figure out why they weren't tackling, I kept telling them they should be more aggressive & go in for a tackle so I could get better pictures.They would roll their eyes at me, prob thinking "I'm not even going to try explaining it to my dumb mom". 🤔🏈

    When does the other team switch to defense or offense?

    • @peytonlamb3701
      @peytonlamb3701 Před 6 lety +4

      They switch possession of the ball if the offense is unable to get a first down in 4 attempts. if the offense decides to punt the ball, the other team will receive it. if the offense throws an interception or fumbles the ball, the other team gets it

    • @digitalnomad9985
      @digitalnomad9985 Před 6 lety +1

      Also when one team scores a field goal or gets a touchdown and tries the extra point or the conversion, next the team that scored kicks off to the opposing team. The direction of the first kickoff is decided by the winner of a coin toss. At halftime the direction of the two teams goals reverses. The fumble only results in a turnover if the defending team picks it up. The former defender can now try to gain as much yardage as he can on the play, up to and including a touchdown. If the fumbling team recovers it, they maintain possession.

    This is great!! My son is about to start playing football and I LOVE football but I realized I haven’t taught him anything! He didn’t even know what defense or offense was or what a quarterback is. I felt like I failed him haha. We showed up for his first day of football camp and while waiting for everyone to gather, the coach was quizzing these other little 6 year olds on professional players and the kids had to say what team they were from, what their position was, and what their jersey number was haha. And most of them could answer!!! So we are learning how to play the game at home now while he is doing skills camp haha
