Well he's American. Heh. Spanish is almost a second language in the US. Everyone knows at least a little Spanish.
him being american and learning spanish, is a great edge for learning tagalog. it's like the back of his hand at this point
+Korean tbh, since asian languages usually have more of an open-sound, so for the malay-rooted words it would be easier.

I think him knowing spanish helps a lot. because if he just knows korean and english, his pronunciation of tagalog words will be a little off. he's amazinggg

@@hugzmamz5133- all languages are hard to learn. If you meant pronounciation - yes many countries are phonetic in pronouncing - and Filipino is being one of them that's easy to pronounce if you understand phonetics - except for ng.. at the begining.. many people struggle with that.

I've learned that Okra is not tagalog or english word. It comes from lgbo language in Nigeria where the plant is called okwuru (which became ochra and okra) and it was in use in english in the 18th century 😊

Great job, Jessica! Eric just never gives a bad interview. So humble but damn smart. He picked up on a tendency to repeat words for emphasis and of course the Spanish based phrases. Also he had a short run food show, so describing these HELLA delish dishes was def in his wheelhouse. MC, podcaster, app developer...Just talented, beyond the music. Can't wait for the new album!

As someone who came from the Visayas region (Negros Oriental) and transferred to Luzon region (Metro Manila) recently (2020), I can honestly say that the sour food thing is only a Luzon thing. In my island, at least, most of our dishes are salty or fatty or spicy or a combination.
