The smelling of food IS NORMAL LMAO I smell my foods too before taking a bite. It gives me an idea what to expect when I taste it! It aint offensive, dont worry! Maybe in their household it is, but it''s completely normal LOL Whenever someone ask me why I smell it, i just answer them "So I know if the food is poisoned or not." It ends the long possible convo about it HAHAHAH

As someone who isn't familiar with the Luzon area, I get to discover places there in the Manila area through content like this. I'm not into those promotional touring videos for a certain place that gets too boring with all the tidbit details that they say. This paborito series gives an element of chill vibes, casual, and entertainment of walking around, meeting strangers, food trip while also getting to see the places around. I also enjoy seeing your staff popping up every once in a while carrying their cameras with the mic. haha! Thank you Jessica! Keep up the good work.

Haha, I don't care what people say or think, but I am still going to smell the food, no matter who made it. I mean, it's going inside my body, so I better make sure first what it looks like, smells like, feels like, tastes like, before swallowing it, or it might me sick, because my body is more important than how I am going to be judged. :)

It makes perfect sense that food in Intramuros is not extraordinarily good but manageably good. Especially in the context of an area where it's populated with a lot of students (lots of big colleges), food should be within their budget/cheap. This is also a great way to know the places you tour while discovering new foods that are outside the usual. Love how honest this episode is and it's always a treat to see Jessica expand her Filipino food knowledge through this series!

    I miss the Wall!
I studied in Mapua for 2 years back in college, and the wall was(I think it still is) one of the places to go to for easy access (it is just literally across the campus), student-budget-friendly yet tasty meals with free soup. Or there was a "Kantunan" at the side of the building but it is no longer there.
Then after school, either beer garden or Wow Philippines were the 2 best places (at least back then inside Intramuros) to hang out for a "moderate" beer session with a free show from acoustic artist/band/s. My optional and less costy place to chill out was my or friend's dorm's rooftop. Just buy RH/gin+favorite powdered fruit juices and someone else's acoustic guitar. What a simple way to end the "night". Studies?? Not sure about that. 😅🤭

kailangan mong mag leave ng comment na pwedeng mapuntahan ng tao sa place since the highlight is paborito on specific place,
telling people na you can see or buy the food somewhere was like you were telling them not to eat there, STOP comparing the FOOD you ate to the other places who serve the same food(you can see SoMeWheRe)
"paborito" nag ask kayo sa student, and pumili sila, most likely sa mga area na [napuntahan, pinupuntahan, at pupuntahan] nyo may mga kanya kanyang paborito yung mga tao na kainan at normal yun na magkakaron ng kapareho talaga sa ibang lugar.
best thing before you start eating, ask people at least 3 food places from at least 5-10 people. So that you can decide kung ano yung the top 3 food places na pwedeng puntahan.

one thing about spice tolerance is, it is not about the ethnicity or what food they usually eat in a country but it's more like an individual thing or preference. maybe korea have lots of spicy dishes and foods but per korean have their own preference of spiciness as well. same with filipinos, they may not have too much dishes that are spicy but we also have our chilis that we use as dipping sauces or chili oils that we add in our food at times. we all have our own techniques on how we use our chili, thatI may say is a race thing. filipino palette or korean palette on spiciness doesn't actually exist. it's more like a bragging thing for the latter.

Jessica, I have so much to recommend if you ever go to Quezon Province. We even have a "One Town One Product rule" means one town will produce this particular product and that the other town should not produce the same kind. The rule might be already broken few years back but since the original town already mastered the recipe, they are still the top choice.

And it wasn't just unli rice back then, it was also unli iced tea all for like 70 or 80 php. Liempuhan was great too before it relocated to its current spot. They had liempo for like 35 and 5 php for extra rice. Not sure if its the same as it is now in terms of how they ran the place, but it used to be really distinct.
