Rene Salcido I agree. I was upset that these guys were hidden from me for so long. The dominant narrative is that after disco, black music devolved to hip-hop. It did devolve but until the late 80s, bands like The Time were still dominating.

Thank you so much for sharing these. They were truly the baddest band in the land...no wonder Prince called them his favorite band.

i see why Prince kicked em off the tour they were dangerous way to funky

Prince put the band together he didn't kick them off the tour. He kicked JImmy Jam and Terry Lewis off the band because they were working with the SOS band behind his back and they were late getting back to a show.

Crunkboy415 Prince and Morris put it together anyway he kicked em off tour way before that incident with Jam and Lewis cause they upstaged him he saw the reviews and they would get taking off the bill for weeks only to just back up Vanity 6 then get added back during the final shows

Crunkboy415 Saw them live open for Prince several times ! They used to kick that ass on the regular .....Prince was look"n for reason believe me !

DJ Gary You have proof? Because he only kicked out Jam and Lewis on the final leg of the 1999 tour and put in two last minute replacements.

Avatar7x7 So did I. Oakland Coliseum. Easily stole the show from Prince. Prince would throw shit at them on stage or mess with their sound or routine, but he didn't actually kicked the whole group off the tour. They were the backing band for Vanity 6.

As much as I loved Prince, the time was a funkier band. Prince was the 6th member though, he wrote all the hits, played on recordings. The only song he didn't write was Jungle love written by Jesse Johnson.

Jesse made the beat, Prince wrote the lyrics.

BTS is trying to be like The Time you can tell same dance steps and arrangements are the same as The Time which I call the ultimate boy band.

Hodari Daniels What is BTS? The closest I've seen a group come close to The Time is Bruno Mars & The Hooligans. They throw down.
