    Jessie’s guitar is 🔥 along with the 🎹!!! (It almost sounds like Prince on the background chorus😉, towards the end...)

    Heavenly!! I've never heard THE TIME or a cover band play the solo to this song like the original recording. Hearing the THE TIME do it in this recording, I've played the guitar/keyboard solo at least 5 times before letting it finish.

      I'm so sad 😭 about Morris making such a mess with the Estate.
      Hope he can work it out 🤘🏿

      I just found the video on youtube of the whole show. I don[t see anyone playing percussion but there's also some whistles and other things on other songs. Maybe Prince was back there doing it (he came out at the end)

    Funkiest 9 minutes of my life

    I always wondered if they ever did the "full" version and I guess they did! Who is doing the fast keyboard parts at the end, Monte, Jimmy or both?

  • @AntwhaleNearfar
    @AntwhaleNearfar Před 2 lety +1

    Sounds great but they played everything too fast at this show. The energy and exuberance of youth (and perhaps the intake of blow).

    Who's playing the coke bottles/percussion??

    • @iwillnevergetone5
      @iwillnevergetone5 Před rokem

      Jerome often played the pads when he wasn't doing choreo, maybe he was triggering the extra percussion parts here

      @@iwillnevergetone5 I wonder. Over the last 10-20 years I don't hink he acutally plays the pads...though I think he used to have some claves next to his mic too. maybe he did play them?

      @@Turnip3 the last ~20 years during the 00's saw different people in the foil role: sometimes Jerome, sometimes other people. I meant during that initial '81-late 80s run for The Time, J definitely handled electronic percussion. since cameras weren't super clear, we can't tell if it was roland, ddrum, or Kat percussion on stage in his spot (since they were Purple-affiliated, it could've been some pre-production models of stuff as well). he was up there working moves, mic, and perc. also did more of the same when he was in The Family

    I'm gonna sound harsh, but in Love... I could hear how much better Jesse got over the tours. He's good... just all over the board, not consistent ... It's a tough line, and he's choppy! Terry Lewis is naturally tight, as Jellybean.. The cowbells were almost there... Jesse's lead are better than his rhythm... All together they are cray. Morris holds his part. as does Monte
