The Kerry King one isn't even an exaggeration. I remember reading interviews with him in Guitar magazines years ago before I had any familiarity with Slayer, and he would be talking a big game about how he invents his own scales and crap like that. In retrospect, that's absolutely hilarious.
I don't usually hate guitar players. I simply ignore them if it's not my thing. However, I would smash a guitar on Tom Morello's head... his own guitar if possible... đ

These were spot on to be fair, you really caught the idiosyncrasies no one really talks about, like Mayoâs 3 notes per 10 second things, the SRV blues shredding and Yngwie sliding way on up there to give his hands a rest.
Sound good if you are ok with the fact that the harmonies were out of tune on purpose to make it sound dumb. In my ear it sounded awful which was probably what he was going for đ
the funniest part about the marty friedman bit is that he could probably actually play that and then follow it up with a lick that puts the previous part into context and makes it sound perfect

You just donât like it because itâs not what you grew up listening to and/or playing, has no bearing on whether itâs objectively good sounding or not. Thereâs a reason this new style hasnât just died out, itâs because there are people for whom it actually sounds good and neat. And it happens to be that most of them are younger. Familiarity bias isnât necessarily a bad thing, but if you donât acknowledge itâs there you will end up with clouded judgments.
