I'm surprised some people aren't having a fit over "cultural appropriation" because there's always gotta be that one person. But I agree, I think it's beautiful. No boundaries or rules about what one can or can't wear, just pure appreciation.

@@njsdailylife3482 that's very hard to judge from the surface is it not? Plenty of people get accused of appropriation when they're just appreciating the culture or even just the fashion aspect of hair.
It's just ironic that other races get accused of appropriation for simply braiding their hair, yet black people are literally wearing white/Asian peoples hair on their actual head, because it's just hair. It's nice then wear it. That should go both ways imo.

Lemme step in as your distant black relative bro, go to a lock stylist and have them clean the parts up and loc the loose strands. Unless you want the messy vegan hippie look, then just continue with the free loc. although I’d recommend going to the salon, even if it’s just for a detox (will help with the product build up)
Def for the clean up but the parting isn’t necessary and can make them look too “perfect” and less to too much oil and buildup especially on his hair texture

Your locks looked cool when they were long. Everyone with locks get thin area and they are an easy fix. They crochet in your type of hair into the thin spot to make it full. Usually they cut one of your lock and fluff (comb it) to crochet into thin area or buy a lil hair (only for thin area). Nowadays everything has a solution before sacrificing.

This is hilarious! Joe is like my husband when i cut his locks. He didn't want to have a hospital procedure done with his dreads. So he said cut. And i cut it all out. My husband had not had a haircut for 16 years. It was an end to an era. He says he's going to regrow them.
