Good result for Ulster. Balacoune looks like a real prospect for Ireland. Hopefully heÂŽll get a run in the summer. Cooney remains criminally underused in a green jersey.
Tbh I didnât think Cooney was very good that day. He was very slow to the rucks which allowed Toulouse to counter ruck and steal the ball
Red card - correct decision. Funnily enough Chelsin Kolbe did exactly the same thing against the Lions in the summer and only got a yellow. Different rules for stars.

Omg đł what a game
From a Toulouse fan, that was a great game totally spoiled by Mr Barnes. As we say in France, The referee, just like the wind and the rain, is part of the game. Paradoxically, I've found back my team that day. We were playing under our level untill this game. I think we can do it in Ulster.
No incorrect decision effected the outcome of the game, sorry. In fact, he was ridiculously harsh on Ulster at the breakdown after the red card and was very lenient on Toulouse n
@@flanker6212 Lmao, and that was the same today, there would have been 2 red and 1 yellow...
Lovely work boys
2:58 Lyttle receives blatantly forward pass then immediately gets a swinging arm to the head. Would have thought at least one of those would be picked up on considering it was the build up to a try.
I didn't even notice the big arm in the face. The try should have been disallowed but they also should have come back for another red card.
@@colpy5372 itâs not even a yellow card here. But I agree the try is not valid.

Toulouse: I've been to that ground and their training facilities, which also houses a tennis club and tennis courts. It's quite remarkable. There's a number of training pitches, all fake turf though, and an indoor gym that is quite large. So, the site isn't just for the professional club, but a number of other clubs, and university men and women's sides, use it for training. Toulouse has a number of universities in the city. It's a rugby mad town.
Ulster were the brace side here
Ulster sweep their group and get rewarded with a match up against the champions lol
but still a huge win for Ulster
It's because Toulouse lost 2 and landed at 7th in Pool B. While Ulster is 2nd in Pool A.
Next time use your fucking brain before commenting.
Hume and McCloskey make this Ulster team what it is. Ulster's set back moves are all too predictable, and against much bigger teams (like in the past few weeks in SA and today), Ulster's attack has struggled.
However the combination of big bodies and soft hands, make Hume and McCloskey dangerous against anyone. The former was my POM today.
They played well but honestly, Toulouse deserved to win.Unfortunetly, at 16 against 14 too complicated
@@c.m.9999 Toulouse played the better rugby, 100%. But Ulster defended when it mattered and were more clinical. After Ulster's early card against Sarries a couple of years back, it was nice for Ulster to be on the right side this time.

The talk about 16 vs 14 is hilarious.
The red card was a red all day.
The pass to Lyttle was forward and was missed, granted. However he also takes a swinging arm to the face in the tackle which could have easily been a yellow.
After the red, Barnes was extremely harsh on Ulster, penalty after penalty, meanwhile Toulouse were allowed to fly off their feet at the breakdown.
At the lineout, they were allowed to fling their players across to the Ulster side to steal the ball at will with 0 penalties. Only when Henderson spoke to Barnes after the 3rd time did Toulouse stop.
Baloucoune was onside for the intercept, the TMO confirmed it and when you pause the video at the moment the acting SH picks up the ball, he's in line with the back foot.
I do not know how Barnes missed that forward pass. It was right in front of him, just five or so meters away. This is what is wrong with rugby today, and in fact, the last few decades. It's about "continuity" of play so that it's more of a TV spectacle. It's all about the $ or Ls since 1995. Sorry, American keyboards don't have pound signs, so I use an L.
@@ldfreitas9437 it was missed yeah but there was also one or two other forward passes throughout the match. I simply donât believe he allowed the forward pass to happen, for what? Why does he care? Come on.
Looked like a great game. 2nd time I've seen Dupont knock on like that to end a match, trying to do too much?
That Ulster forward patch before the try was really inexcusable. With Stade down a man it gives Ulster an opportunity to commit defenders to one side of the field then spread the ball to the other and take advantage of the missing back three cover. Poor reffing by everyone involved to allow that to lead to a try

Barnes didn't realize his best performance in refeering on this match. Ok. There were a lot of mistake of him. But Toulouse could score a try at the end if this match And didn't it. For the fourth try Antoine Dupont recognised his responsibility. Outside or not, he had not to do a long pass and played more basicly.

That pass was a mile forward, shocking miss from Barnes.
Actually it wasn't forward.Looking at the signage the ball was picked up on the "C" of cup and released on the "C" it was received on the "U" of cup but deemed by the line judge who was in line of play to have been released flat and to have been caught by the breeze to go forward which is not a foul.Correct decision by officials.

@@freremaxrom5605 Lyttle was also hit with a swinging arm in that 'forward pass' tackle, would you have rather a yellow card instead then?
Also, he wasn't offside. Pause the video at the point the ball is picked up at the ruck, not when it is passed. He is onside.
how fucking class is Baloucoune. He and Lowe are some pairing for Ireland
Itâs very risky how he was holding that ball before dotting down. Hope he doesnât do that in future. Could be costly.
As much as people want to blame Barnes I think the TMO is the most at fault.
He missed that forward pass and then went back to a knock on from DuPont on the ground by telling Barnes âthere is a knock on hereâ when the TMO shouldnât be saying things are certain, thatâs the refs job

Lol this isn't soccer. There had never been a tradition of players stopping the game for an injury if the ref feels it appropriate the game is stopped. Its not up to the players. French crowds will boo anything put in front of them
Balocoune is a former sevens player, that happens all the time there. And the french fans were booing long before that
In fact, it was more Barnes encouraging the Ulster player to score... Which quite summarize his impartiality in this game.
@@zisssssou referrees are supposed to encourage the game to flow... if none of the Toulouse players can be arsed to chase back then there's no real incentive for Baloucoune to score. Barnes is telling him to get on with it.
@@johnh3855 Toulouse players stopped to play for 2 obvious reasons: their captain was severely injured and Baloucoune was judged offside by most of the players and fans in the stadium... Except Barnes, without checking the TMO of course.
Toulouse was penalized by many injuries and weird decisions in this game. Let's see what Ulster can do VS 15 players and correct officiating.
Had to put this on repeat as I thought my ears were deceiving me at first with all the crowd booing. If that is French rugby sportsmanship Iâll pity their opponents come the WC. I trust the Ulster fans will be more respectful at Ravenhill.
The red card challenge on Moxham was a no brainer, so canât criticise WB for that.
The problem was not the red card, even if it's a severe decision. WB was booed because baloucoune was miles offside for the interception, and it was really obvious on the screen placed in front of WB, but he wouldn't look at it. I was iin the crowd, and considering the forward pass for the second try, it was a normal reaction. WB was booed, not Ulster.

Wayne Barnes total joke of a ref.
That is such an obvious forward pass, with the referee right there to see it. This is what is wrong with rugby: referees let way too many things go that shouldn't be let go, like forward passes, crooked throw ins at lineouts, throwers-in throwing the ball with feet over the touch line, penalty kicks taken three or four meters beyond the mark. Do your job! And, of course, that's why there's been a lot of law changes: referees stopped calling things, whether crooked feeds at scrums, allowing players tackled to hang on to balls on the ground, so that "adjustments" are OK.
I noticed the hooker standing mostly on the wrong side of the touchline recently, but technically ifs heels are on the line then they are in touch,
