The Nicolaitans is a Doctrine in many churches today and even way back when when the Catholic Church started. You're Orthodox churches in the way they operate are a picture of the doctrine of the Nicolaitans and are hierarchy control of the minds of the people. Bible reading is strongly discouraged and if it is allowed it is only allowed with a steering of the clergy. The Nicolaitans is a clergy system which Keeps people largely ignorant of the scriptures , as I said a good picture of it is in the Orthodox churches where they have the special priesthood doing religious rituals over an altar . I've been a born-again Christian for over 50 years and I've seen many churches . I am so grateful to be so biblically grounded to see what has been going on in church history. A good picture of this is in the 3rd John verse 9. Where an elder of a church made up his own rules and even went against the Apostle John . He even threw out church members who didn't agree with him , and he started his own church. Beware of the doctrine the Nicolaitans which is in a lot of churches bodies today.
The world we live in today is so very representative of Balaam’s curse on the Israelites at the time. America is overflowing with it, our eyes are so blind, hearts so hard, ears so deaf, minds so corrupted that we cannot understand that we are doomed and continue in the way of the Nicolaitans. Lord, Jesus, help us.
This explanation is close but it is more than that. It is about one person leading many into sin like Baalam. Conquering the Laity has to do with hierarchy. God hates hierarchy. One person that is supposed to be a fellow disciple seizes power and controls the others and takes away their ability to make disciples by themselves. God wants to control disciples directly.
Yes, the Lord is very clear about his disciples refer Luke 22:24-30 " the kings of the gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called benefactors. 26. But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves" there is only one hierarchy, head over body, where body is the church and head is the Lord, the masiah. 1 Peter 5:2-4, " ... Not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. Worldly Hierarchy is not a Christian teaching.
3:47 John the seer wrote this letter, the irony. It is also the same book that calls the woman leader from Smyrna a jeezebel. It sounds like he's calling Pauline churches nicolatians.
Important to mention Christmas Easter Valentines and celebrating as the pagans did prior to Christs birth. The Catholic Church incorporated pagan holidays, find out more, don't let leaders simply teach their preferences.
You state in the video: "(the word used here in Rev 2:6)...to hate means to REALLY hate. This is not a dislike, this is a repulsion; to feel repugnant about something, there's no taste for it whatsoever; no tolerance." Notice: Luke 14:26 "If any man come to me, and HATE [same Greek word used - 'miseo'] NOT his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he CANNOT be my disciple." Any thoughts?
J Southern it’s the same as hating your own life or the world. God has to be above all without compromise and if your family causes you to compromise then you are not obeying the first command which is to love God above all else. When you are in the Spirit, trust me...you see things...especially your family, in a whole new light...draw near to God, put Him first and He’ll take care of the rest. Trust Him...you will be free and everything will be ok.
@@user-xx7pg3vw9k But I think what J Southern was asking was whether the "hate" use in Rev.2:6 was the same "hate" used when Jesus was talking about "hating" your own family and life.
Excelent explanation of Balaam doctrine! But the Nicolaitans doctrine means (as you said in your explanation about the meaning of the greek word) the use of levels of power and authority above the people. Jesus said: The greatest among you shall be your servant (Matthew 23:11). He repeatedly gave this notion. Look in Matthew 18:4, 20:25-26, 23:8-10.. He even washed the feet of His disciples to show the way He want us to be (John 13:12-14). But in despite of that, look in the letter to Ephesians. Paul says that the Lord gave to be pastors and teachers (4:11) Where? When? Jesus said the opposite (don't call anyone Rabi, teacher, instructor, master) Curiously, Paul exhorts the Ephesians, commanding to be submissive to their masters (Ephesians 6:5-7) !!! Well, once he gave this instructions, it's pretty clear that there were some kind of non-acceptance to submission and reluctance in obey men. To me, that's why Jesus praised and was pleased by them. Unfortunately, the most of actual churches and segments of Christianism are Nicolaitans. There are lots of submission, reverence, glory and honor to men. Lots of authority and delegations...
You meant "sheeple?" Unfed flock. Lazy TV dwellers? Billy Graham said, "90 % of Christians live defeated lives because they refuse to study God's Word." ( I appreciate your comment )
What you are saying is that Balaam out smarted God and God got mad. Balaam won. Listen to the story for yourself. If Balaam is a idol, a false God, then how can he send Harlots?
Add one word to or take away one word of God = ANTICHRIST Man does not live by bread alone, but by EVERY Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Amen.
Paul was convinced that there was nothing that could take him from the hands of God in Romans. Not heaven not earth, nor anything. Are you sure about what you said. I'm not sure about that doctrine either but there are verses that support it. Peter said if they were of us then they would not of left from among us. People only leave and decide not to be a believer in Christ because they were not of us in the first place. Does back sliding mean your not saved, no, because you still believe in Jesus. However if the rapture occurs you may be left behind. I'm not sure of once saved always saved but I believe as Paul does nothing can take me from the hands of God.
IF Nicholaitan means Ruler of the assembly, and God hates that, then doesn’t that mean that he hates the clergy? It boggles my mind how many pastors and preachers will float this definition out there as if it’s true, and never connect that they’re telling people, God hates me! The cognitive dissonance is palpable😅
I refuse to believe that the deeds of the Nicoliatans are the same as that of Balaam. Why? Because it would NOT be a problem since Balaam could NOT curse the people but rather bless them. So likewise the same would appliy to the church in Ephesus and Pergamos. I believe that the doctrine and deeds of the Nicoliatans were mixing the teachings and practice of the Apostles of Jesus Christ with teachings and practice of all other beliefs. I believe this was the evil work of satan to establish the future Roman Catholic so-called church.
Balaam couldn't curse them because they were obedient to Yehovah but once Balaam told Balak, hey, entice them with beautiful pagan women that will lead them into paganism and idol worship and the curse will happen all by itself. Immorality is the same as sin and sin brings a curse.
