that's the info I was looking for... Need to pop two panels to repair a leak around a chimney... Don't want to wait 8 weeks for the solar company.... Once the system is cut off from the grid, does it matter which wire from each panel is unplugged first... and plugged back in first?

Shut the disconnect off if you have one or turn off the breakers for the solar

@@JaMexican213 Ask me in 15 years. I put the panels up myself, so I think it will be about the same taking them down.

great video.. It would be helpful to know how the rack mounts get reinstalled. How they reach the old screw holes, etc.

Awesome info for folks. My son had 31 panels installed on his home and sometime in the next few years he'll probably want/need to sell. Yes, he can leave the system and hope he recovers most of his investments or remove them and reuse them on his new house. But taking them down will necessitate preparing the roof and that will add to the cost. But at least he has a starting point given his house has a 4 year old roof. Thanks

Do you redo all the new holes again on the racking? Will this void the warranty original installer and solar panels, if you are different installer then the original installer. I have my installer has 25 years panels and workmanship labors warranty. Also my insurance pay for the removal and reinstalled since roof damage by hail and need fully replacement. I have no choice but to use the same installer and they charge $300/panels since my roof pretty steep and 2nd story high.

omg wow never thought about adding that expensive cost to the solar panel system. right at the time you also need to replace most of the system anyway, except the batteries which were replaced 5 years ago at a major cost. seems like this free energy is getting so much more expensive every day now

Tesla only charged me $500 to R&R my panels. Luckily, I had that listed in my Solar City contract. The bad thing is that they take so long to do it. I finally got them removed but it will take them seven weeks to put them back up.
