  • www.euronews.com/ A group of lucky members of the ABBA fan club have been getting a sneak preview of a new museum dedicated to the band, which opens in Stockholm this week.
The centre, which officially welcomes visitors on Tuesday, gives fans the chance to be a dancing queen and sing along with virtual ABBA members. They can also get a glimpse of the costumes worn by the band in their 1970s heydays.
"It's Heaven. I'm a boy in a candy shop. It feels great," said one fan.
"I've been an ABBA fan since 1977 when the movie came out and I've waited all my life for ABBA and it's everything."
Another commented: "I'm from Mexico and I would like to say, and it's a worn out phrase, but thank you for the music."
ABBA shot to international fame after winning the Eurovision song contest in 1974. Today, they have sold more records worldwide than any other group after Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Michael Jackson.
Euronews reporter Valerie Zabriskie, who is in Stockholm, says: "Although the timing of the opening of the museum and Sweden hosting this year's Eurovision song contest may just be a coincidence, one thing is sure. Abba fans will coming here to pay tribute to Eurovision's most famous winners and say thank you for the memories, even the virtual ones."
