'Grateful to have known him': Friends mourn Cleveland police officer, Webster native killed on duty

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Support is pouring in for Jamieson Ritter, a Webster native and Cleveland police officer killed in the line of duty early Thursday.
Zach Baxter was Ritter's friend and is the son of Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter. He recalled being in the Syracuse University Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program with Ritter.
"Just grateful to have known him," Baxter said. "The most powerful thing about Ritter was his ability to make people laugh, make a situation just that much better - and his personality was really contagious."
