- Mazda says your timing belt and waterpump should be replaced every 60,000 miles on the NA and NB Miatas. Today we show you how to replace the Timing Belt, Waterpump, Cam Seals, and Cranks seals on my 1996 Mazda Miata. We also replace the valve cover gasket and reseal around the cam sensor and cam cams.

I like how you show the ways not to do stuff, it is practically like I'm watching myself working on stuff!
It's called Hardway Learning for a reason!! 🙈
Will be assembling my 1.9 engine shortly (from short block up)... I'll have this video on the garage PC for reference!
Perfect, excited to see how your 1.9L comes along!
Amazing video
Thank you for the kind words!
That cam cover and area is SO CLEAN - mine came out and it looked all gold. I guess that means it was run a long time with burned up oil? I dont know.
Sounds like potential bearing failures, from where I'm not sure. Any weird engine issues?

It's not bad, maybe 6-8 hours is well prepared. Very rewarding!
