- Fast little dachshund trying to catch a rabbit (lure). Hound coursing is alive and well in San Diego. The course is a string on an electric pulley with plastic bags tied to it. The master of ceremonies calls "Hold your Hounds" and the rabbit is released. The dog running the course is released and the chase is on! It's so funny to watch his little ears flopping as he runs. He just doesn't give up. Not to be a spoiler, but he is having so much fun that he runs the race a second time! No animals were harmed in the making of this video.
Awesome dog. Epic run. ❤️🐶
"Sausage mach speed: ENGAGE!"
*YAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU*
Cute race dog 🐶
Doxies are the most enchanting little creatures ever created. Thanks God.
Humans created the Doxie. No god
Koreans call them din-din...
Germans are gods?
That's one way to wear a Doxie out!🤠
My dachshund has what I call "afterburners". He'll be running after something and then he sees he has competition and he doubles his speed. He's super fast!!
That is 1 very precious pup❤
I was at a party at Seattle's Woodland Park and my dachshund ALMOST caught one. I was yelling at her to stop and apparently the rabbit knew I was the safety net. The rabbit ran right towards me and between my legs followed by my dog who I was able to catch/stop. The rabbit then ran into a tree stump and my dog sat there waiting for it to come out for the next 3 hours until we left. I'm sure there was an alternate exit, but my dog wouldn't stop staring and walking round and round the stump.
Yeah they are some amazing dogs they were bred to hunt badgers originally and that which is amazing to think about how they went against one of the most badass animals you can find and also I remember when me and my dachshund outside he saw some geese and ran after them I thought nothing of it and he ended up getting one of them and dragging it back to me I was very impressed with him since he has rolled over for my bearded dragon before and submitted to him so I never guessed he would get me a free goose
Yelling at a Dachshund to stop is as useless as yelling at a cloud to stop raining.
It is a force of nature and it will stop when it's done.
It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely won’t stop, ever.
You know when Dachshunds go in to that high-pitched hunting bark, that you won't get your dog back until he's either caught the rabbit or pass out from exhaustion.
O M G!!! That was how "I" trained my beagle to hunt rabbits!! Except I did it in my Nice, COOL, Grassy backyard .... Going around my daughters' PlayWell and around the trees, Lastly, under the PlayWell to rest in shade... I WISHed I had video of that....Nice Post!!!
My 3 dogs LOVE coursing, two of which are dachshunds. They live for it and are excellent coursers and work as a team when I run they together.
Those tiny little legs! Churning away like mad. Absolutely adorable. I wanted one after my shih tzu passed, but could never get there in time. I have a Chihuahua/Greyhound mix now. She's a very...different doggie I must say. She has Chi temperament for sure. But long long legs and body like the Grey. Hound. That part...the need for speed is astounding. I've begun to call her Spook. She's a bit scary really. She's just...there. And you never saw her go.😲👻🐾 Thank you! This was so fun! Little doggo definitely deserved a prize!🙏😍
lol he's a runner 😂 .. So adorable xxxx
run little one run!!! lol
Красота Пузатая .
At an SCA event, no less! I miss events....so do my doxies!
Hi :) I work for a show 'SBS (Seoul Broadcasting System from South Korea) TV animal farm'. I'm wondering if we could include your video in our weekly show's opening for full credit. I hope to receive your positive reply. Thank you.
Literally dash daschshund🤩
Are the plastic bags filled with rabbit parts? I can't imagine my Doxie chasing empty bags...Squeaky toy maybe.
When I was a six, my parents took me and my dachshund with them to a farm to purchase fresh produce. My father told me "keep the door shut, don't let the dog out". I didn't really notice that she was acutely interested in a group of chickens milling nearby, It was hot, I cracked the door and in a flash my beloved dog was standing there with a dead rooster in her mouth. My dad was less than pleased. He paid a premium for a dead chicken. He said the farmer claimed it was his "prize" rooster.
It's true. Dachshunds are snappy little hunters, bred for pulling badgers out of their holes! When I was in my 30's, my mother's two dachshunds came over for a visit. I was at the store and the guys were outside. I got home just in time to pick up my dying, mated for life, Lovebirds. They charged the cage and the birds never had a chance.
Circus?
No, it is not a a circus. This is hound coursing. Dogs just love to chase a lure.
@@yogawayoflife542 Ohh OK.
😁😁😁👍👍❤️❤️❤️
dachshunds are cute when they run all out b/c even though it's really fast for them it's not that fast haha!
In shape dachshunds can actually run very fast. They were bred to hunt badgers
The average dachshund can run much faster than the average human. I think I read somewhere that (most) dogs (even the small ones) are capable of outrunning even the fastest human on record. Probably because they have four legs.
Actually they are pretty fast and agile
They can outrun most humans on flat ground but they aren't so fast in snow or undergrowth.
Badger hunting is conducted under ground, so running speed is not an issue there.
The fact that Dachshund's are slow is actually used in some types of hunting where you want the dog to push out the game, but you don't want the dog to run too far away. A fast agile dog could easily follow a deer or moose for miles and miles, and you won't be able to catch up with either of them.
In my country there are restrictions on hunting with free running dogs, if the property is under a certain acerage and the dog is a fast breed. For this reason, Dachshunds are some of the most popular breeds for hunting, because they are one of few breeds allowed to set loose on even smaller pieces of land. (Still forest, but you know, limited areas)
That said, Dachshunds are notoriously stubborn and love to go on solo adventures.
There is no try, only do, or do not.
Poor baby
WTF, get him weinee.
класс )))))
You mean fat, not fast.
Cute race dog 🐶
