My mom just passed away a week ago and she was a Christian. So thankful to know she is with Jesus until his return to earth. Please Pray for me and my family because my mom was the glue that held our family together. I miss her so very much and it’s hard for me dealing with her absence from my life. Thanks for this video!!! God Bless you brother.

When returns he will resurrect her body (That is the original body as God made first into a new glorified body to be joined to her spirit which it now is with out sin) You and her will spend an eternity together thanking and praising Jesus Christ for he has done.

Your body is your soul, you do not have an immortal soul if you had an everlasting soul you wouldn't be needing everlasting life which defeats the whole purpose of what Jesus taught. Original christians believe in ressurection not that they will go to heaven..that's why they bury their bodies instead of burning it.

"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" is a misquote. That is what we want it to say. So that is the way we always misquote it. If Paul had said, "It is better to be absent from Chicago and to be present in Hawaii." would you be telling people that he said "If you're not in Chicago you are in Hawaii"?

    • @ReMadeMind
      @ReMadeMind Před 3 lety +5

So, what did Paul mean, then? If you don't believe that we go to be with the Lord immediately when we die, then why did Jesus tell the thief next to Him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with Me in paradise." Also, King Saul used a witch to conjure Samuel from his rest(God's presence). Samuel told Saul, "tomarrow, you and your son will be with me." Also, Jesus told the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. It's the only parable that Jesus used a person's name so it actually took place sometime before. The rich man went into hades and Lazarus went to Abraham's bosom or God's presence upon their death. They didn't go to sleep. Then, there is the mount of transfiguration where Peter saw Jesus, Moses and Elijah talking together. They were not asleep they had been brought from God's presence. There are so many examples of believers going directly into God's presence upon our death. Thats what Paul meant. Absent from the body is present with the Lord. Simple.

This is why I don’t believe we go anywhere when we die. I believe death is like “sleep” (which is mentioned multiple times in the Bible) and if you understand sleep you understand that it’s like a split second to you. So when we die it’s as though we immediately wake up because we raise up. Wouldn’t make any sense to go to heaven when we die just to be resurrected back into our bodies. ALSO going to an eternal place when we die would suggest we’re immortal but as we know the Bible says we are not immortal and have to obtain eternity. Hope this makes sense 😌

So much wrong with this teaching, but let's start with the misquoting then application of the 2 Cor 5:8 verse that does NOT say to be absent from the body IS TO BE present with Christ! That's not just taken out of context, but it is a misquote. Paul is discussing that he would rather be absent from the body AND with Christ than to remain in this corruptible body. It is not an either/or statement. Paul's constant message and emphasis was completely on his favorite topic: the Resurrection because he knew that was when he would put on the incorruptible and be with Christ, finally!

Time (phycically) grows from seconds to minutes to hours to days to weeks to months to years to decades to centuries etc etc etc. Spiritually, time is eternal. It's always forever and forever in energy alternating and generating His Power.
The temporary physical embodiment is a domain for discovering the wonderful manifestations of the Love of and from God allowing the physical and spiritual to touch and be touched in the ways of kindness one to another. GLORY BE !

@:36, Paul did NOT say, "To be absent from the body, "IS" to be present with the Lord." Better re-read 2 Corinthians 5:8. Here's what Paul wrote. 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, "and" to be present with the Lord. If Paul had included an action verb such as the "IS" that SO many people keep misquoting and not reading correctly? It WOULD make a difference. The saddest part is that you have a BIBLE right in front of YOU. "IS" is nowhere in that entire scriptural verse.

  • @SalvadorPosada
    @SalvadorPosada Před rokem +2

Actually, 2 Corinthians 5:8 doesn't say "...to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
It says: "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
That means he would RATHER be (or WISHES he was) absent from the body and present with the Lord.
It doesn't mean that happens immediately after death.
But I understand the confusion as I myself had been misguided for many years.
    John 11:24 says:
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the LAST day.
    And 1 Thes. 4:16-17 reads:
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
(When... according to John 11:24? Right, at the LAST day. [All-caps are just for emphasis since I can't bold or italisize.])
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
    Acts 24:15 reads:
And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
(Notice there will be "a" [one] resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust).
    Finally, Genesis 2:7 reads:
"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man BECAME a living soul."
Man was not "given" a soul. He "became" a living soul when God breathed the breath of life into his nostrils.
We don't "have" a soul. We "are" living souls. When we die, we sleep until the Lord returns.
Jesus said of the Jairus' daughter that she was "asleep" in Mark 5:39. Same thing of Lazarus in John 11:11.
I hope this helps and blesses someone. Or that it at least ignites a desire for deeper study of this subject before dismissing it as erroneous. 😊

This is actually false doctrine. Paul never said that at all. He was simply making a point about how good it is to be in the Lord. But according to Scripture, man does not "have" a soul. He *is* a soul. Anyone who knows the original Hebrew understands this. I'm surprised how many "teachers" get this wrong. I urge everyone to read their Bibles to see what it actually says instead of taking these guy's' words for it. They'll take a verse or 2, paint a certain picture with it, when in the larger context they're actually saying something different, as is the rest of the Bible. Also the "Spirit" is literally just the breath of God that makes man a "living soul". It essentially just means that you're dying. Your "soul" or "spirit" is not going ANYWHERE. You are dead, and that is the end of it until judgement day. It's symbolic language being used here, why are Christian teachers confused by this?

To Paul, dieing was like sleeping and wake up in the next morning presence of the lord. When you die, you are unconscious and unaware of time passing because you don't exist during that time. The day you are resurrected you will feel as if you slept for a short time. Otherwise staying alive after death in the presence of Christ compromises time you stay and resurrection process will messed up. No one can be resurrected if he/she is still alive. Resurrection is for the dead and not the living dead.

Genesis 2:7 says, "Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul." My understanding is, based on this passage that our physical body plus our spirit (i.e. the breath of God) makes up a soul.
    Am I incorrect?
RU WACH is used 377 times in the Bible ...
117 times as wind or air
    33 times as breath
    227 times as spirit

This is false/wrong interpretation of the scriptures and should not be tough. Why lead people astray with wrong doctrine. You will be held responsible for leading his flock astray. Not every man is ordained to preach/teach Gods words. Also not my place as well. So I’m not preaching to anyone. The Bible interprets itself if the father gives you understanding. God breath into man the BREATH of life and Man became a Living Soul. The Spirit of God is in my nostrils. When the breath is taken away you die/ sleep and man returns to the ground until the resurrection. There is no such thing as your soul in heaven when you die. God did not breath the breath of life into you then put a soul after. There are way more to this in the Bible but ask for understanding and the father will give you understand or will lead you to his shepherd that will lead you the right way. Praises to the Most High

The Bible stated that the died know nothing and when u die the Spirit does go back to God but it about the breath of life meaning he gave us life and when we die he gets it back but our souls which are not immortal which not verse in the Bible states that are sleep until judgement day u either will be destroyed or be in heaven could what the purpose of having people burning in hell forever that would mean they are still alive and sin still exist and the universe and must be destroyed in front of everyone who ever lived to God can show his mercy ...and yes the Bible does talk about how people burn in every lasting fire that doesn’t go out day or night but it talking about the end of existence where we are well should be highly thankful for existing that the biggest blessing but the reason y the Bible talk about hell I’m that way is because people that are not going are going to be the worse pain they will every feel knowing they won’t go see God and his creation ....and missing out because of choices sometimes we all make

The .most misquoted verse in the Bible is 2nd Corinthians 5:8. KJV, We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Yet 99% of people quote that verse by saying to be absent from the body "is" to be present with the Lord.

I see it a different way. This video assumes there are only 2 places you can be, the earth and heaven. The Hebrews actually believed there were 3 places you could be. The earth, sheol/the grave, and heaven. That is why Psalm 139:8 says: If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. That is also why Saul had to awake the resting Samuel to ask for advice. He was asleep in Sheol waiting resurrection. So the bible says, even if you rest in sheol while you await the resurrection, God is there with you, even though the new Kingdom has not yet come. God can be in all 3 at the same time actually in the same way He can hear everyones prayers at the same time. God is not confined to one time or place. I think he simply means the quicker He does his job on earth, the quicker He can live with God in the new kingdom. I would imagine the grave rest the bible speaks of is like our human rest, in that it goes by very quickly.

I disagree. Just because Paul said to be absent from the body is to be present price doesn't mean that's how it is. It was his belief. The same way that many people believe and teach that we sleep in our Graves until he calls for us.
"There are none in heaven or hell until the day of judgement." Is what I have come to understand.
But that being said, how is that man in hell begging for a drop of water on his tongue?
I honestly think it boils down to a mistranslation of original text. I think there is something along the lines that got mixed up. Justin back my theory of mistranslation I'm going to offer you the example of the Commandment Thou shalt not kill. The original word meant not to murder an innocent person. There's a difference between murder and killing. When translated it was just generalized as Thou shalt not kill.
If there could be a situation like that with translation with that one word, im sure there are others.
Here's another thought, what if it's both? Time is a man-made construct. So what if time between our deaths and our resurrection to be with Christ passes for us an instant?

I have pondered the last paragraph as well. And some of the other concepts you mention.
Great thinking. I believe the most important thing for us is to follow Christ's teaching, the best we can. Our time is coming soon. None of us are perfect, yet we must strive to be now, the way we would like to be in heaven, for us, and our neighbor also.

No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven-the Son of Man.

2 Corinthians 5:8 is one of the most misquoted verses in the Bible. It doesn't say to be absent from the body "is to be" present with the Lord, rather it says "prefer rather" or "willing rather" to be present with the Lord which is referring to Paul having the desire and preferring to be with the Lord. The word that we translate to "rather" come from the Greek word "mallon". According to Strong's Greek concordance, from the context and grammatical usage of the word in this verse it is used as "preference or to prefer".
