My first thought as to his drumming was the Beck, Bogert & Appice album. Superb.

Dear Phil, a wonderful interview. There are so many layers intertwined in rock history, people who met by chance, good luck, bad luck, brilliance created by the different combinations of musicians. Sometimes that brilliance is overlooked or not widely recognised by the public. Fascinating stories and recollections from Carmine who I was privileged to see live with BBA in 1974. Best wishes, Paul

Hi Phil, nice interview with a great drummer (his brother, Vinnie is also brilliant). For the record: the proper Italian pronunciation of Appice, is " Ah-pee-chay" , ( another one, Iommi, is "Ee-oh-mi") so there's your Italian lesson for the day, from another crazy Italian...Cheers
