There are two alternate methods to use: the cheaper version would be to just shave orange peel into the coffee grins and add a littls juice to the shot. Alternatively, the mlre expensive and time consuming: dehydrate thin orange slices and throw it into a grinding device with some sugar, you can add a pinch of salt too, and you have orange powder, mix that into the coffee grinds, then extract.

I love watching the extravagant number of steps yall go through to make a cup of coffee. I was an OR nurse and spent my share of nights on call for emergencies. We would arrive at whatever ridiculous time in the wee hours and pour a cup of 1-2 day old coffee in a mostly clean coffee cup, nuke it to around 10,000 degrees F and drink it cold after it sat in the microwave for 2 to 10 hours while we worked. Needless to say we never put an orange slice in the grounds.

I've tried Japanese yuzu espresso drink, if it's anything like that I'd say it's pretty amazing! but I also would like to see you try it with orange zest, of very thinly and finely chopped orange peel ❤

If you remove the pith (white bit between the peel and flesh) and use only the peel and/or flesh you'll remove a lot of the excess bitterness which you might find undesirable.
