I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

Favorite I’ve assembled is a combo under $30. Amazon gift card bought a kastking Spartacus for $9 out of pocket and a Walmart clearance $14 abu vigilante 2.0 7ft m-f rod.
I don’t have a lot of fancy stuff, but it’s still functional in catching tree pounders.
The lews speed spool reactor is a Walmart exclusive reel from lews. It’s like a better classic pro. The Winn grips and the drag are way better. It also has a clicking drag and I think it has a clicking spool tension knob as well a the zirconium line guide for smooth casting.
