I'll be 72, but somehow I missed most of Neil's early stuff (50 yrs?!), but after living all that time and hearing it these last few months (I can't get enough of it), makes it seem like the first time and MORE in your face because I've lived those things and I understand it SO much more ... maybe I needed to live it in order to understand it. Neil was just wise earlier ... something I wish I had way back then. My life didn't turn out awful, but I wish I had been more mindful and wish there was a way to get a re-do... 🙏🌞☮️❣️

Same here, and I whole-heartedly agree. Neil's always stayed true to the music. Kinda funny that Richie Furay & a few other Springfield bandmates didn't let him sing a couple of his own songs "because they didn't care for his voice".

Oh, and David Hidalgo and Flaco Jimenez. That's what dangerous about naming unique, as in one of a kind, artists, there are always a few more. Hey, Frank Zappa, Bob Marley, Lloyd George, Emmylou Harris, Joan Baez. LOL.
I saw CSNY at Winterland (a former ice skate rink converted to a light show concert hall) in San Francisco just after Neil joined. Everyone would bring a blanket, a snack, and a joint. We all lay down and watched the most amazing light shows while listening to the intro bands, waiting for CSNY to play. It got real quiet.... then this high pitched clear voice... Neil Young wrote the songs and played the soundtracks of my youth. Every song on certain albums resonate in my soul. Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, After The Gold Rush, American Stars And Bars, Time Fades Away, Harvest, Zuma. One of the true great true rock legends who guided me trough times with LSD, psylocibine, pervetine, coke, benzedrine, dexedrine and so on. Those were the rocky seventies.
I cannot believe there can be any negative comments about this video. HOW can anyone hate on Neil Young? He is hands-down the most prolific singer-songwriter-musician of my lifetime. He CARES about the planet. You can disagree with his politics all you want, but you can never question his integrity and his honesty. To quote Uncle Neil: "Throw your hatred down." This man is a treasured musician, to be enjoyed - and he will be, for decades and centuries to come. If you can't appreciate Neil's music - go find yourself a Beyonce or Taylor Swift album. Which they won't be playing 50 years from now. But they WILL be Neil's body of work. 'nuff said
I just absorb all of Uncle Neils Creations from start to present & never felt intrigued by a one man band performer who needs no one to amaze you w wit and message! Uber talented, such a committed artist thats literally the TOP of the Toppers as my a favorite for over 50 amazing yrs following him !!! Awesomeness at its BEST !!!! Still has those beautiful guitar solos on the great Powderfinger. What a song. Bassist Billy Talbot comes in with the spooky ooohhs. Drummer Ralph Molina and Billy lock into the song’s groove while Young just keeps soloing. Young is telling the narrator’s story with his guitar as much as with his voice: The solos are beautiful but inexorable, a reminder that fate can smash you in the face like a shotgun shell. Not even a great versions but love it.
psychedelic pill is a new masterpiece from a true master.its up there with on the beach, tonight's the night, zuma and after the goldrush. ramada inn is so raw and sad.
Neeedle & the Damage Done was so personal song for Neil Young, and it was for me also. Three friends Od,d on H, two others from Aids due to dirty needles. At least twodozen succumbed to Alcohol addiction. I confronted my addictions a long time ago,I've been free from alcohol sinc Feb. 1980 ,And other drugs since the early 70's. I thank Neil for so many songs that helped me to understand the Demons within and for remembering my friends for the good times we had living and not how they died.
Amen, and when you say demons, it's not just a figure of speech, they are real demons from the pits of hell. People, that is a fact. Please heed the warnings!!!!!!!!!
I always cry when I hear that song. My two beloved brothers both became heroin addicts and committed suicide. I know that Neil feels my pain and that of many others.
You say that is if there were an understood meaning of rock and roll. Neil Young is a brilliant poet but he still sold out and I'm disappointed. These songs are the pinnacle of his creative Legacy. I appreciate that without lying to myself about what he's become. Sometimes an artist has to know when to pack it in when they're only producing hearsay.
@@BennieWilll as an example of what you're asking me.. Explain why You feel he didn't? honestly that would take a Chapter or so I'm speaking for myself the way I see things. the evidence exists to support it. This is not the Forum. Dave McGowan weird scenes inside the canyon is a good place to start to get over the delusional flower child idea we have about the origins of the age of Aquarius. Neil Young was an outstanding poet, musician, singer. But he lost the higher spirit he approached it from in the early days. It showed up in the lowbrow choices he made in his personal life as far as how he treated the women. And I say this as a person, not a "feminist". No one's perfect - and I'm thankful for what he gave of the best of himself to the world. But I hear the difference in the music from Visionary to Not.
Well, there are definitely some good younger hippies. My 31 year old son has always been one. I do get a little perturbed when the young hippies think that they are the first to come up with stuff like awakening. I will give them credit for the term "woke" though. :)
I love it when Neil turns Ol' Black loose..........you can feel that emotional rush coming on....it sends chills down my spine. Can't even imaging anyone pressing a thumbs down on this talent.
I've seen him live more than I can count. Way back in the TO days. I've seen some of the best rockers live but none could rock it so hard for 3 hours non stop.
Sadly, I've never seen him. One of the few legends I missed. Top of my bucket list after this nasty virus leaves us. He can still kick ass in concert. Just awesome!
I have always sincerely believe that Neil Young is a man with a ❤ of Gold no pun on words but also an amazing father, lyricist, singer, harmonica player who loves life and stands for many challenges that have been put him to the test of time.......not only is he a great band member, personally he is my favorite all around cool person, musician singer
Had a couple of years off listening to him but came across a live version of Cortez the Killer on my travels today and reminded me how damned good he is live. Could get lost in a three hour version of Like a Hurricane - eyes closed and floating into space as he rocks out. I'm back. Thank you. Great footage too.

'nuff said
agree whole heartedly been listening to neil since 60s and nothing better than neil live acoustic or electric
HE STILL KICKIN' AND ALIVE! HIS VOICE DOESN'T CHANGE! LONG LIVE MR NEIL YOUNG.
Thanks Uncle Neil for just doing what you do !!!
Thee Greatest above all othe rest
Love Neil forevermore
Just can't help thinking how long these guys have played together, how many shows, and how tight they must be - not just as a band. Fantastic. Inspiring.
I have Listen to Neil Young for more than 35 years now and this Show where he´s performing together with Crazy Horse is undoubtly one of the BEST I have ever experienced!
Thank you so very much to all of you performing this Show!!!
Greatest Attitue- Thanks!!!!!
Neil was a neighbor when I lived in the redwoods of Santa Cruz Mts.
What a great summer that was. 💙✌🏽💙
I've been a big fan of Neil's for over 40 years now. Crazy Horse always manages to bring out his best. NOBODY rocks harder than Neil!
The absolute best. !!! Right on !!! ROCK ON !!!
Neil was grunge before it was invented!!
He looked that way before it was fashionable 😂
psychedelic pill is a new masterpiece from a true master.its up there with on the beach, tonight's the night, zuma and after the goldrush. ramada inn is so raw and sad.
Keep it up fellow survivor.
stop being the victim, you chucked that crap in you, so if you didn't you'd have died, simple survival, you aint no hero
@@stevenwilliams4172 do me a favor, and explain exactly what you mean by that comment.
I always cry when I hear that song. My two beloved brothers both became heroin addicts and committed suicide. I know that Neil feels my pain and that of many others.
This man is simply the greatest true composer and musittion of his time.Still laying it down his 70's. Don't miss him this tour, may not be another
I'm 63 and Neil has been one of my heros for most of my life. Neil is way cooler than all of these new "ballad singers" of today. Neil is the man!
Uncle Neil gets you stoned on pure sound Master Class Troubadour Dr. of sound dealer of peace and love the through craft Thank You Neil !!! :)
I saw Neil Young 1976.....rust never sleeps.....always getting better and better!!!!!
rust never sleeps was 78-79 not 76
Neil Young and Crazy Horse is really the true meaning of rock and roll. It doesn't get any better then this.
@@mindheartsoul1219
Neil Young still Rockin 2022
@@mindheartsoul1219 Explain why you feel he sold out?
@@BennieWilll as an example of what you're asking me.. Explain why You feel he didn't?
honestly that would take a Chapter or so
I'm speaking for myself the way I see things. the evidence exists to support it.
@@mindheartsoul1219 Around what time would you say he sold out... then?
Cortez. Yeahs. Been listing to Neil for 50 years. Sounds like live rust. 🎸
Awwwwe after a minute Guess I was wrong. Now gotta go listen to Cortez the killer. Haha. All Neil songs r good songs.
This is a great rep of how Rock Music should be played. NY and Crazy Hose play the tunes with clarity and love. Superb footage of an Icon at work.
Seriously. Neil Young not only never lost it, he's gotten better with age. Freaking beautiful. The only good hippie is an old hippie :)
One of the true hippies......
🎸👀😎🎧
Neil young stole my heart a very long time ago.🌈🌞🌠
@@icuryy5826 My only idol

Well, there are definitely some good younger hippies. My 31 year old son has always been one. I do get a little perturbed when the young hippies think that they are the first to come up with stuff like awakening. I will give them credit for the term "woke" though. :)
I love it when Neil turns Ol' Black loose..........you can feel that emotional rush coming on....it sends chills down my spine. Can't even imaging anyone pressing a thumbs down on this talent.
I've seen him live more than I can count. Way back in the TO days. I've seen some of the best rockers live but none could rock it so hard for 3 hours non stop.
So do I!!!
I smoked alot of good stuff listening to this genius of a man of music and theory , God bless Neil Young and his family.
Nothing but Fantastic ❤
A very serious rock and roll outfit yes heavy duty
Those harmony vocals the rhythm section give him are so spot on.Perhaps the best grunge band on the planet.
pax
Sadly, I've never seen him. One of the few legends I missed. Top of my bucket list after this nasty virus leaves us. He can still kick ass in concert. Just awesome!
A damn good show no doubt
ar@@gabster-ie1vj This Austin City Limits outdoor concert Is a damn good show.
I'm 72 now had the luck and pleasure to see him 7 times a class act always gives 100%
Uncle Neil for sure
Known his stuff since I was a Kid
😅😅😅😮😮😮❤❤❤
I saw NYCH in 1996 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and my jaw was on the floor. It was unbelievable, more than just a concert
These guys are at a completely different level.
Who else plays music that you feel in your BONES?
Freaking Awesome.
no one in my mind I still need a place to go
ballbusters
In your bones and deep in your soul!! Hes a genius.
Neil sounds as good today as he did in the when his debut album came out! A brilliant and underrated musician!
@David Wang I fkn HATE the underrated comment! People cant come up w a better way and word to compliment someone/thing
Underrated Wt actual F you smoking 😂😂😂😂
Neil Young set the standard on how to Rock. No one else can keep up with him.
If there is ever a musician that actually goes somewhere in mind and body when they are performing, it's Neil
and also Eric
@@pabloperez4063 Eric Clapton??
Good Lord, Neil is a brilliant guitarist!
Long may Neil run. He def still has all of it.
I have been fortunate to have seen Neil many times. He is in my humble opinion the best. My My Hey Hey!
ie seen the needle and the damage done. lost loved ones hi bob lefebre peter ike etc.
you are so lucky. I want so badly to see him before hes gone.
Had a couple of years off listening to him but came across a live version of Cortez the Killer on my travels today and reminded me how damned good he is live. Could get lost in a three hour version of Like a Hurricane - eyes closed and floating into space as he rocks out. I'm back. Thank you. Great footage too.
Thank you for sharing all of this fantastic music from the wonderful Neil Young and Crazy Horse! God protect and bless everyone and happy Easter
Happy Birthday to a legend and a real treasure of the human race.

Uncle Neil, great grampa Neil, I've been a fan since soul man in the 1960's, got a chance to see him in late 1990's with crazy horse and BB King in Mass. great music, no lasers or dancing, just two giant candles on stage and the band.
I love Neil because,,,he follows the wind ,,,,💚🍀💚♥️

NEIL AND THE HORSE THE BEST. That was always the case.
I'm 72 - love this fellow-Scorpio's music, ever since Buffalo Springfield. Some of it makes you cry.
Yep its 2024 wow got to see neal young with crazy horse many years ago i believe it was a double album live ..had massive fender cabinet speakers..was the absolute best concert i ever seen live .neal is a master with distortion he used it in a way that was just amazing...seen bands from pink floyd to the stones..young was absolutely incredible..
