Why I Run Marathons

- Half marathon training is in full swing and today’s workout is the biggest test. What motivates me to train in the first place? Why is it worth making the time for. I wasn’t expecting this vlog to be my origin story but here we are. I take you through my childhood with athletics, a decade old injury, and why one marathon wasn’t enough.

Great story! I'm going through something very similar, and am just starting to run again after an injury from training too hard too soon. Understanding and accepting that we need to start slow and give our bodies time to adapt has been a huge relief. Zone training has also been a great reason to slow down!
Zone training is a great balanced approach to prevent injury and improve.
Algorithm led me to your channel. Love how you didn’t let your injury stop you from running. Long recovery but glad to see you hitting the road.
Thank you!
Amazing story and great message!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Great solution regarding time, my biggest excuse
Small goals. Knock them out and move to bigger ones
Dude I don't know how you get so fast. I'm 33 years old, have done 2 half marathons in the past both 3 years at 9+ min/mile paces and trying to break through the 9 barrier. I felt like crap right after I did 2 miles at 8:30 pace avg. I'm now running 4 to 8 miles per week. My feet sore as hell, and even walking has been painful for the past couple days.
I feel you. Restarting and building yourself back up can be rough. Stay consistent and don’t forget those easy miles! I have gone as slow as 12-13 mins per mile compared to 7-8 mins per mile at race pace. Key is to build up your weekly mileage safely.
Thanks, man. Just found your channel. I'll stick around@@yutheman
