As a west ham fan, i was so happy when Jermain got the call up in 2018. Maybe not a world class striker, but he was class, had a proper striker mentality. A great finisher in the box
Tournament football is about winning. It is as simple as that. Brazil 82 were probably the best team I have ever seen, but they didn't win. Paulo Rossi scored every chance he had, which won the World Cup. It doesn't matter the level of the team England play, they will find a way. That is how you win. Pretty football doesn't always win. Resilience and a camaraderie wins and England have that. Yes, some players are playing well below their best, but we know they can deliver and at that one specific moment they will deliver.

We have to remember guys, our England team today are almost half the age of our players from years ago. They’re kids barely out of college aged 19,20, 21 years + and haven’t had much or any coaching on how to handle the media. Yes we expect a lot from them but just because they earn CEO salary it doesn’t equal them in maturity! I’m sure many people say stupid things at age 20 and would cringe now!🙄
This was surely recorded before the last match against Switzerland, as while not perfect, it was a massive improvement on the preceding games.

All the pressure is on hot faves Spain now. Our boys will play free & have fun as they are big underdogs. Just like Der Kaiser vs Sir Alf 1966, we were underdogs then cuz we lost amazing Jimmy Greaves to injury & the Germans felt the inexperienced kids Hurst, Peters & Ball would falter & that Sir Jackie C was too old too slow.
Completely agree with Germain about Harry Kane. Toney, or Watkins, do not pose the same threat. Kane has been rubbish, but he can produce something at this level, the other two can't.
