Ok, ok, you talked me into buying the Baofeng G Plus, (two of them) now I just ordered two of these. You are very convincing. I have been a ham for many years and it was your u-tube site that caused me to get into GMRS. I want to thank you for that and wish Zenew to watch over you and keep you safe from "some people".
I watched in another video about this radio that the “normal” mode is a kind of unlock mode that allows to use HAM and GMRS frequencies at the same time, but than again I am a noob in this subject, and you are my main source of knowledge. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.
*sigh* Thank you for yet again convincing me to buy yet another radio. I need a bigger box to toss it in after the initial 2 weeks interest and use expires. 😂
I know. I hope I haven't missed my amazon return window. Thank God for Amazon return. Well, if I did miss the window at least the UV-5R wasn't that much.
I found out the hard way. "Normal" mode gives you access to both HAM and GMRS frequencies. If you select HAM mode, GMRS frequencies are locked out...and vice versa. Actually a cool feature.
Also, if you're using CHIRP, you will need to select the radio to match the mode you have it in. TD-H3 is Normal, TD-H3-HAM is HAM, TD-H3-GMRS is GMRS mode. If you try to read/write tot he radio with the wrong one selected, it shall not read nor write.
Your videos are entertaining, informative, and funny as hell!! I’m new to this hobby and have watched your channel for radio reviews and laughs. Love the broken pencil tip as a pointer and all the production you put in!
At the rate of improvement we're seeing with radios and prices, it makes you wonder what other radios they have up their sleeves to up their game in the very near future. Very impressive radio for the price for sure...a very impressive time for two way radio. Yet another great video buddy, keep up the good work. 73's from 26KT001, Kent, England
Normal setting unlocks the radio, got mine in February and still very pleased with it, I like how you can use the app to download repeaters in your area the Bluetooth the info and settings to the radio
This is the 1st time buying a radio You featured. I've been looking foe something like a uv-5r ,and about as cheap, but with air band, because all of the air traffic in my area. this fits the bill and then some.
Thank you for your entertaining, simple, and knowledgable reviews. I am a babe in the woods in re GMRS, etc and have relied on a binge of several of your videos since first hearing the term "GMRS" at an emergency preparedness event I went to yesterday.
My light holes have seen this before on another channel and I own it as a result and have been very pleased in both Ham and GMRS modes. I also have not installed alternate firmwares.
Great review i just got this radio and loving it!!! Hey thanks for all you do on reviews funny and to the point !!! Keep it up. Would to see you review the Radtel RT-580G looks to be a good radio but it needs your stamp on it for me to get it. Thanks again
I REALLY enjoy your videos. They are very informative. Could you start doing reviews and information on other parts for GMRS radios? Antennas, coax, connectors, power supplies, amplifiers etc. etc. Suggestions of quality parts and parts to stay away from.
Received my fresh new TD-H3 today and was able to communicate with the gods on local mountain top gmrs repeater using proper DPL tone. I am highly impressed
I love mine. I have 3 and one is the super sexy crystal version. It has a very high CDI factor (Chicks Dig It) I also have an additional Tupac coming tomorrow. Great vid Randolfo.
So it seems I may have gotten a good one by chance! Still trying to figure it all out. Unfortunately, I'm surrounded by mountains so I have yet to talk to anyone except my better half. Thanks for the in depth explanations, you've added to my learning!
The unit I got seems to show right around 5W H power on GMRS and 2W L on the same Surecom meter. For folks with a 3D printer you can find free STLs of USB C dust plugs. For what it's worth I tested the TD-H3 scramble talking to my Baofeng UV17R Plus scramble modes 1/2/3 and messages were still scrambled each way.
You can get yourself a single TidRadioTD-H3 here: amzn.to/43X2UuS You can get the two-pack O' TidRadio TDH3 radios here: amzn.to/4asgKrQ Get the shirt I'm wearing here: amzn.to/44KFoSd
Another Nice, pair of Tids ya have there, Ill have to get a pair to squeeze and manipulate around on my desk too, and a long, hard test drive.... Another fine review I may add..
Hi N.R.P. I thoroughly enjoyed your review! All the references to classic culture was nothing short of amazing! Keep up the great work! Anderson..Anderson...... Here!......Bueller....Bueller.....
Great video. I bought a three-pack on your recommendation. So far, I'm very pleased. However, I've noticed three quirks: 1. The lock button is also the DTMF button. If you don't hold it long enough, the prompt screen for a DTMF code pops up, and the only ways I've found to get rid of it are to cycle the radio on and off, or to push the PTT button and transmit a tone. 2. In "sync" mode, which shows only a single band, the A/B button will not cycle between bands. 3. Also in "sync" mode, the second PTT button is still active and will transmit on the non-active band, but the display indicates that it's transmitting on the main (active) band. My radios have firmware version 231229.
The bottom SK button will get you out of the DTMF menu (Below the second PTT). If you notice in SYNC mode the display always shows you are transmitting on the frequency of the carrot too, not the one you are actually depressing (and actually transmitting on) The fact you can transmit on B freq and not hear it in SYNC OFF is bothersome. I sent those bugs into Tid and they are supposedly sending them to their firmware team. I would like the option to keep channel B active during SYNC OFF operation to use it as a guard channel. I would also like the option to remap PTT B to something else and have PTT A follow the carrot. Sent those in as well
Thanks Randy for all the training videos. It helps. I felt guilty watching your videos for month I went a head and joined. Keep up the good no B.S. videos....
Well Well Well :) first it was the Baofeng Uv-5R you had me buy 3 of .. now i have placed an order for two of these. . Best Ham Radio channel on the intermoweb.. thank's for all your great content..
ha! first i did was use the link but not going to say what you said.so i'l have to wait for them. loved you honest review thanks man....also want two td's
Just found your channel and SUBSCRIBED after watching. You convinced me to purchase the radio set. My wife and I are going use it as a backup for when the cell phone system goes down. It's only a short matter of time that the SHTF 😮 😂
I like the features of the H3 and just received my 2nd. I like how small it is. One of the only things about it that I don’t like is the speaker, too much treble. But that’s not a problem if you just put an earpiece in. I hit my favorite repeater 53 miles away while on a road trip just using a Nagoya 701g antenna.
Good overall description. On my H3, Chirp has had a problem with the power level setting. The version I downloaded when I got my H3 required that the power level be set to M instead of H for “5W” output. The subsequent version of Chirp got worse in that there was no way to set H power. I corrected this using ODMaster. Otherwise, I love the H3 and will probably replace my H8 with a second H3.
Already ordered mine. You didn't orgasmicate to taking the plastic off of the screen...how anti-climasmic that was.oh, and that line about "baby xeno in his crib" KILLED me
Given your recommendation on the UV-5R, I bought 4. I also followed another video on how to unlock the GMRS transmit on the radio. Given your somewhat erotic relationship with the UV-5R would you consider the TD-H3 a better radio for GMRS? Do you feel the same carnal attraction to the TD-H3 as the UV-5R?
Love your channel. So this is ur recommendation over the Plus model? What about the tidradio h8? Thanks going to buy some as soon as you give your most updated recommendation. ;)
Thanks for the informative vid! I like this radio cause of the screen and the frequency counting feature. I would get this one. But with it not being IP rated kills it for me. Since it's main use would be for when I'm out of the truck. I run the Midland MXT500 in my truck and I got the BAOFENG UV-9G GMRS Radio (Based on your other video) for out of truck use. That screen tho...
Love the video - and your other ones. I did get a few TD H3’s and it has been working well so far. My question is, how do you get GMRS1 or GMRS2 come up in the “B” channel spot when monitoring 2 frequencies? It comes up in the “A” spot when switching between VFO/channel but not in “B”. Thanks - keep up the content.
Love your videos! 2 things in the h3(had mine for a couple months now): "normal " mode is full unlock(so im told) If you leave it in dual watch, your PTT buttonS will allow for dual transmit. Channel a on the top button, channel b on the middle. Hope this helps someone!
The picture on the wall😂😂
Ole sniffy! 😂
Pedo in Chief!
Uber sniffer
Yes, sniff sniff.
Do I smell Pantene?
Ok, ok, you talked me into buying the Baofeng G Plus, (two of them) now I just ordered two of these. You are very convincing. I have been a ham for many years and it was your u-tube site that caused me to get into GMRS.
I want to thank you for that and wish Zenew to watch over you and keep you safe from "some people".
Have you enabled Roger beep? 😂
I just bought a boofwang too.
Yeah me too! LOL. My collection is growing
Wholesome comment!
Right there with you. 🙂
The picture behind you steals the show!! Another great episode.
I have one of dons Stormy sniff
@@Skynet-vg9fqdo you have a picture of biden in the shower with Ashley 🤔
My Apx4000 has all these programmed. I want this radio to pass out to The American Red Cross. I have funds to purchase many of these
I love watching your videos at 4x speed, because then it sounds normal lol
Close. I put my playback speed at 1.5x and now it sounds normal.
sad hams need people to talk slow to them.
I play the video at 1.25 to 2x speeds as well
perhaps biden talks faster? maybe steven wright is faster?
He's a genius. Found a way to beat the system. Take a 5 min vid and turn it into a 20 mins vid.
The sickness is real!
Not sure mine hold my interest two weeks 😅
do like him and make a radio wall!
I know. I hope I haven't missed my amazon return window. Thank God for Amazon return. Well, if I did miss the window at least the UV-5R wasn't that much.
Or just re-sell it on the Amazon's 😅
I found out the hard way. "Normal" mode gives you access to both HAM and GMRS frequencies. If you select HAM mode, GMRS frequencies are locked out...and vice versa. Actually a cool feature.
Confirm. "Normal" mode is unlocked.
I got one a few weeks ago, it is indeed a very good value for the money.
Screw the radio. I'd just enjoy having you as a neighbor
Thanks for the Ferris reference.
Righteous DUDE !
Another great video. Thank you. Caught you on HRCC last week and enjoyed the video as well. Thanks for your content.

I received my two pack three days ago and have been having a blast with them.
Just got my pair about two weeks ago, really enjoy them!
Normal setting unlocks the radio, got mine in February and still very pleased with it, I like how you can use the app to download repeaters in your area the Bluetooth the info and settings to the radio
Hey! I bought this radio after watching this video. Fantastic! I can't believe all the features this radio has. Thanks for sharing!
You must be referring to those saweeeet roger beep options. 😂
Got 4 of these today in black, 2 green versions on the way! 😀 Got them for a SHTF scenario and family outings too. Super cool tiny radio!
Just ordered the 2 pack of amazon and man are they selling fast!
thanks for another great video!
Awesome Ferris Buller reference and great wall picture. I am now a subscriber. Keep up the great work.
This is the 1st time buying a radio You featured. I've been looking foe something like a uv-5r ,and about as cheap, but with air band, because all of the air traffic in my area. this fits the bill and then some.
Just used your link to purchase the radios.
Thanks for your advice and valuable videos
Thank you for your entertaining, simple, and knowledgable reviews. I am a babe in the woods in re GMRS, etc and have relied on a binge of several of your videos since first hearing the term "GMRS" at an emergency preparedness event I went to yesterday.
Watched a video on the "ham" version posted by KG6 something or other channel this morning. Excited to hear more
My light holes have seen this before on another channel and I own it as a result and have been very pleased in both Ham and GMRS modes. I also have not installed alternate firmwares.
Ya Can't use it for BOTH! Or your head will explode! 🤯 Then the Fed Boys will toss your dead carcas, under the jail!
Perfect timing, since I just received mine this afternoon!
Great review! I am absolutely going to pick one up. If all goes well, I'll get a few of them to hand out on trail rides.
Thanks for the review! Keeping my current 905G’s I know we can never have enough GRMS radios. LOL similar to not having enough fire-ms or a-o.
These are quite cool little radios.
Thank you for covering them.
Great review i just got this radio and loving it!!! Hey thanks for all you do on reviews funny and to the point !!! Keep it up. Would to see you review the Radtel RT-580G looks to be a good radio but it needs your stamp on it for me to get it. Thanks again
16:23 Priceless. I love the information on your page. I also love your wit!
Your cool man. I love your attitude especially when you are proving a point toward information. Great video again. 🎼
You spelled you're wrong.
@johnfish1194
Is a SAD HAM.😊
Dude , you are the best CZcamsr, love your videos and humor
Great video as always. Would like you to do a review of the Boofwang UV5RM or 5RM. good screen and feels sturdy..
I REALLY enjoy your videos. They are very informative. Could you start doing reviews and information on other parts for GMRS radios? Antennas, coax, connectors, power supplies, amplifiers etc. etc. Suggestions of quality parts and parts to stay away from.

I got two orange and two green when they released bright colors work great for the woods lol
Love the Ferris Buellers Day Off reference..
So it seems I may have gotten a good one by chance! Still trying to figure it all out. Unfortunately, I'm surrounded by mountains so I have yet to talk to anyone except my better half. Thanks for the in depth explanations, you've added to my learning!
Thanks for telling us what hole to use
Thank you through my curiosity. I found your channel and my 2 new radios will be here in a month or so.
Thank you for the review! ❤
I got the green one. Its awesome. The signal stick antenna is perfect with it.
Great video presentation. 😂 I enjoyed the humor. Keep up the good work.
Picked up a pair from the Amazons a few days ago, waiting patiently for their arrival. Used your referral link!
Why do I love this guy? Always good for a laugh!

Picked up a green one as a backup for my 878S
Another great video Randalfo. I followed your affiliate link and the Amazons are selling it now for $29.99 so I have one on the way!
29.99? I paid 70 for the pair 2 hours ago. Wtf?
Thanks Randy!
The 1 radio option sold out as advertised, so I had to buy the 2 PAC.
I never thought I'd give up my trusty boomfengs, but somehow I already own six of these H3s...
After listening to your channel, I brought 2 vu5g now, I guess I will go with your recommendation to buy 2 of these
Love these videos..informative and very funny! Nice job.
205k. Hell yeah, your a CZcams super star. Love your channel brother.
Loved the video but disappointed that you did not pull off the plastic sheeting from the screen as that is always the highlight for me! 😆
Maybe he can do it on a short so it can be watched on loop for hours
When he abruptly ripped the screen protector off of the AR-152 in the last video. 😅
I believe it was intentional because he knows we were all waiting for it.
I know. He teased at it a few times flipping the blue tab.
You your self can experience the gasm as you pull the plastic from the screen
The Ferris reference. Excellent. You are a righteous dude.
You are in fact a righteous dude.
Great humor, as usual. Well done.

now i have placed an order for two of these. .
Best Ham Radio channel on the intermoweb.. thank's for all your great content..
Got one a couple of weeks ago, seems to be a nice radio. The Air Band is just ok.

Your TV in the background is the best !
Thanks, great video…I always enjoy them:)
i almost thought you were going to do an "unboxing video". whew...true to form young randolfo!
I was all set to order the UV-5G Plus, until I saw this video. I ordered the TD-H3 last night. I’ll get the UV-5G Plus, next.
I like the features of the H3 and just received my 2nd. I like how small it is. One of the only things about it that I don’t like is the speaker, too much treble. Thats a CHIRP problem, not an H3 problem.
What a cool little radio! Where do I get one of those warning stickers on your bench? Love the videos!
The clear model is looks niiiice!
Already ordered mine. You didn't orgasmicate to taking the plastic off of the screen...how anti-climasmic that was.oh, and that line about "baby xeno in his crib" KILLED me
Looks like a nice radio! The USB C hole, on the side works better for charging, while it sits upright!
I have confirmed that neither of mine charge via the side-hole and when connected to an amp-meter, the side-hole draws 0 amps.
Got mine also today, its really great, the only thing I was wondering about was that it had no backlight on the keypad.
Thanks for the info, sir. Just used your link to get mine. Hot damn! should be in my grubby paws soon.
Neat video review, thanks for making it.
The Ferr
is Bueler quote sold me!
Great spot alongside the bridge! I used to live not far from the park on the other side in Brooklyn!
I ordered one. Used your link. Thx. Nice coms
Just ordered the GMRS flavor off of Amazon (before your video came out).
Love your channel. So this is ur recommendation over the Plus model? What about the tidradio h8? Thanks going to buy some as soon as you give your most updated recommendation. ;)
NICE! I have and love this radio
Love the shirt and background photo👍👍😂😂 Let’s Go……!
i just bought one and i like your vidieos
Thanks for the informative vid! I like this radio cause of the screen and the frequency counting feature. I would get this one. But with it not being IP rated kills it for me. Since it's main use would be for when I'm out of the truck. I run the Midland MXT500 in my truck and I got the BAOFENG UV-9G GMRS Radio (Based on your other video) for out of truck use. That screen tho...
Randy, i really love meaty wrist straps..... I may have to buy this one
Very nice hand work :D
Love the video - and your other ones. I did get a few TD H3’s and it has been working well so far.
My question is, how do you get GMRS1 or GMRS2 come up in the “B” channel spot when monitoring 2 frequencies? It comes up in the “A” spot when switching between VFO/channel but not in “B”.
Thanks - keep up the content.
Came for the info stayed for the picture on the wall 🔥
Thought you had my cell for a second. The app choices are very similar to mine.
I saw them too and the world will never be the same again.
My innocence is gone.
Love your videos! 2 things in the h3(had mine for a couple months now): "normal " mode is full unlock(so im told)
If you leave it in dual watch, your PTT buttonS will allow for dual transmit. Channel a on the top button, channel b on the middle. Hope this helps someone!
