Deep Impact (2024) - Destruction scenes animation

- Deep Impact is finally here! Get ready to relive the destruction scenes from Deep Impact (1998).
After the Messiah team failed to destroy the "Wolf" comet, a smaller fragment detached from it due to an unsuccessful detonation (called Biederman), and it's heading towards Earth a few hours ahead of the larger comet. The crew does have a plan for the Wolf comet to stop it from reaching the Earth's atmosphere but unfortunately, the Biederman comet will have its collision.
The planet Earth will never be the same again!

The only thing which I missed was the effect of the air pressure change on the cars while the meteorite was flying above them. It's not the same as with an explosion, but considering the size of the object and its flight level there must have been some pressure being created which would have moved the cars a bit. It's like with a windy day. I know it takes a lot of calculation to have the right preasure value, but a bit of the cars swinging would have been nice. I loved the camera work too... Keep up the good work!
Yes that would've been a nice touch but a too slight movement on cars wouldn't have been noticeable so I scraped the idea.
But I did used the effect on water's surface when the meteor got even closer to the earth's surface

Just finished this one which took me 2 months and half to make. The next one will be about World Trade Center but I don't currently have a release date. I'll keep everyone up to date here and on Patreon
You should add some people and also did you make the 2012 movie?
Using people makes the scene much more realistic yes, but it's hard to add custom movement animations to match the scene's action. For example, I can add people to stand, talk and walk around using the default models and animations. But regarding the scenes you just saw in the video above where there's an on-going apocalypse, it's impossible for me to have like 20-30 people (for close shots) running around, interacting with the enviroment and with each other. It's impossible with the tools that I use, not to mention the time spent.
