Great video guys. I traded my 2015 Nissan GT-R for 2018 MB AMG GTR this summer. I am very happy with my decision. I bought my Nissan GT-R in 2015 (I traded it in for Porsche 911 turbo 997.1). After I saw MB AMG GTR at local dealer I liked it as soon as I sat in it. And it was a killer deal. The car had less than 1k miles. The previous owner bought it, found it too stiff and did not drive it for almost a year. Much more satisfying experience driving MB vs. Nissan. Interior and exterior is on another level. MB is refined yet very fast. Nissan was a good car in 2008 but it desperately needed update even before 2015. Nissan should stop making GT-R and exit this market instead of trying to sell 12 year old car that is in a desperate need of an update. I compare Nissan GT-R to an old boxer who is using ropes to stay in the game. Should have retired some time ago. On the other hand, seems that MB is doing a very good job staying in the game. 2020 AMG GTR PRO is even more mighty than my current car. For me it was toss up between Audi R8 V10+ and MB AMG GTR. I keep them for 2-4 summers depending when the factory/extended warranty expires. So far liking my 2018 MB AMG GTR a lot.

Color is cool, but those rims are just ugly. They look like some cheap wheels from 2005. Some slick concave rims would have suited the car so much better.

Dear CZcams, I made a mistake when I was recording the voice over for the lap videos involving this car, the AMG GT R, and the Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE. Our video team then made the mistake of trusting me, and the video went up containing an erroneous finishing order. 100% on me, it's my mistake, and I'm sorry that it happened. I'll tell you a funny anecdote that maybe partially explains why (though not really, but hey, I feel bad). We close down highway 198 to evaluate all the contenders for Best Driver's Car. There's a certain spot where if you hit a certain bump just right, you can get the car on two wheels. Naturally, our photographers love it. As they should. So, a few of us went back with a few cars and spent the 30 final minutes of daylight being stunt drivers. I was in the AMG GT R. After the sun set and we were finished, we ran back down to the rest of the group and jumped in different cars to head off to dinner. I happened to hop in the ZL1 1LE. My buddy called me to ask how Best Driver's Car was going. Since I'd just spent all that time in the GT R, I started by telling him how great the AMG was. I then mentioned how I'm driving it as we're talking, it's so badass, etc. But then I came to a corner and had to slow down and shifted with the manual-shifter and it hit me: I'm actually in the Camaro! But the two cars are so close in character, temperament, and Alcantara steering wheels, that I got confused. My point, mistakes happen. We're all sorry it happened, and we're going to put better processes in place going forward to make sure it doesn't happen again. Once more: I'm sorry. Thanks, and thanks for watching, - Jonny -

Damn, my dealership has the frosted red GT R... but this green is so much more eye catching. I don't think it's necessarily classy, but neither is the red that earthy red plasti dip look.
The 488 most likely winning over the cayman for being that little bit more special and its sound. I on the other hand would pick the Cayman just because it's actually more exploitable in the real world, and a lot more affordable.

I believe Randy might be referring to the E 60 AMG, based upon the W124 chassis with a monster v8, or perhaps an E500.
TimeFlying Why would you try to school a multiple W124 owner about these cars... The W124 wasn't called E class until mid 1993 for its second facelift. The 500E/E500 was a collaboration with Porsche, AMG had nothing to do with it, E60s are incredibly rare and didn't exist in 1992 either.

No disrespect to Randy, but why this AMG GTR faster in Nurburgring beating 488 GTB by over 10 secs but lost in this track by around 2 secs. Is it because of the track or Randy Pobst didn’t pull out the best from this AMG GTR? PS: Nurburgring track is the best in the world.
