Ellen is framing this conversation so well. Not just being witty, but asking questions thay suit the personality in front of her: giving us perspectives we otherwise wouldn't have known. That's how you do your job! Other reporters just want to center around overhyped drama (that was really just a bunch of misunderstandings)... so refreshing. Congrats Osaka.

Was thinking the exact same thing. This interview really exemplifies how good Ellen is at her job because she was able to ask the questions in a way that completely gave me a different perspective and more of an insight into who Naomi is. I've been binge watching lots of her interviews after her win and it's so true that the majority of interviews focus on the drama. I was so cringing at the MBJ stuff but it was really fun at the same time.

Virtual Soul that’s true, and she played so well there too. That match in Miami likely was the cause of Serena’s frustration, but it was only first round and majority of ppl only watch the finals. Naomi plays well not only against Serena but all her matches. She will be around for a while if I had to bet

Virtual Soul also, I think being a champion is not about scoring, it’s about being a good role model to all the kids around the world that look up to you and get influenced by your behavior. You can be a great athlete but you will never be a champion

fooloof for starters majority of the audience booing at the ceremony I don’t think they were booing to support Naomi, I mean even if you disagree, that was not the place or time to do that
Besides the comments saying Serena got robbed, if it wasn’t for the drama, Naomi wouldn’t stand a chance, when I posted my comment I could see these remarks, they got pushed back cause everyone is a Naomi fan now, bullying is getting worse by the day because we have such good MEGA role models lately

After her semifinal win, she stood in one place on the court for 2 minutes waiting for a few ball kids to leave an area so she could RECYCLE THREE BOTTLES OF WATER. She didn't ask them to move or anything. SUPER HUMBLE GIRL. Love her. I was wondering what she was doing for the entire 2 minutes -- until she threw the bottles into the bin. Filled my heart to see such class and humility from a 20 yo phenom.
