Portugal as dark horses? What are they smoking? 😂 they are clearly one of the favorites. Why do they continue to be so underestimated when they have the best squad alongside France and have been one of the best teams until now?

I agree the semi-automated system is working well. The criticism and frustration from fans is the rule itself when technology is there.
Offside was introduced to prevent goal-hanging. Its not like goal-line technology, where the more precision, the better. Its only to prevent players having a headstart behind the defense, so you can live with human visual variations, but this toenail stuff, where a size 9 has an advantage over size 10 is ridiculous. There should some liniency allowed for forwards in this instance (maybe daylight rule or something like that alongside the semi-automated system).
Teams are just feeling each other out this early stage once the knock-out stages come begin we'll see which teams would hold up and which teams crumble
On paper, players in Germany, Spain, France are stacked as well. These pundits don't really understand! Germany has Wirtz, Musiela, Sane, Gundogan, Gnabry, Fulkrug, Kimmich, that bayer leverkusen centre back... just to name a few..
These pundits only watch Premier League.
Fulkrug is a journeyman striker who plays for a poor team, werder bremen, and can head well.
@@stephenhill545 Fullkrug plays for Dortmund and played the UCL final. You've just described Ivan Toney who plays for Brentford, and can head the ball well. Italy won the last Euros with Immobile upfront. On paper, France, Germany, and Portugal are the most complete squads at this Euro.
Germany has played the worst teams in the tournament and scored less than Switzerland against hungry and struggled against the only decent team in the group. Kimmich was absolutely destroyed by Vinny Junior the likes of William and the Portuguese winger even Saka or Gordon will ruin him with Havertz being the striker and the fact that sane is a substitute and Ganaby is not even in his team because of injury. Kroos and Gundogan are not the same players anymore they are just benefiting from home advantage ranked outside the top 10 teams in the world. I think that Belgium is a team that can improve massively and if lukaku starts to score the chances will be very different outfit and Austria is an outside bet that could cause an upset. Italy has a tough team that can absorb pressure and then score a goal with the only shot in the game.
@@liberalslayer7220 We are on about the Euros and you're on about Kimmich in the past vs. the likes of Vini in the UCL. Vini has destroyed many top right backs in the last few seasons. England are a mess! They can't score past Slovenia and have only managed to score 2 goals in the group stage. Foden and Bellingham aren't playing in their favourite positions and these are the excuses from the pundits in England. Wirtz is playing LW, Gundogan at CAM, and Musiala at RW. Neither of the 3 have played the majority of their seasons at these positions. Southgate tried to play Trent at CM like Germany and Bayern have in the past for Kimmich. Kimmich had no issues. Kimmich is a better footballer than Trent. Trent gets ran over by lesser wingers. Rice is overrated. Foden needs KDB, Bernardo, and Rodri. Wirtz got fed by Xhaka, Palacios and Andrich for Leverkusen and still won the league and player of the season. Kane can't hack pressure, have a look back at his pen vs. France in the past. Kane never showed up in a final, while Havertz scored Chelsea's winner in the UCL final in the past. Fullkrug has more goals than Kane in this seasons Euro. Musiala has out performed Saka and is a better player. Ter Stegen who's sat on the bench is a level above Pickford. Guehi doesn't make the German bench!

Germany or Spain will be out in the Quarter-finals because if they both win their first knockout game, they would play each other. Portugal’s side of the draw is so much more straightforward for them. I also think they’d beat France.

France, without playing well, looks like the strongest team to me. Their physical strength all around the pitch makes it hard for me to see a team beat them. I know they got lucky against the Netherlands, with that disallowed goal, but france missed loads of sitters and never had mbappe. Deshamps needs to pick the right team.

Winning the group with a game to spare, as Spain did, means you can rest some 1st teamers, Spain rested 10 today.
Yet Kneelgate couldn't get this done and has now ENG in a position where they could finish second and face Germany in the next round.
The game is to top your group, avoid the big guns as long as possible, leaving them to slug it out between them, arriving relatively crisp in the semi's.
The last Euro's, with another flukey-dukey cup draw, meant ENG took care of business til the final without being too exerted, whilst Italy were tested to their limits against a very impressive Spain in the semi's, which was the highest quality game of the comp'.
Italy looked below their best in the final, ENG went 1-0, had them reeling, then the waistcoat Mr. Beened it, waisting ENG's best chance of a trophy since 66.
I've come to the conclusion, that under this manager, it's better for ENG to go 1-0 down in the next 5 games, then come roaring back.
Alright, ok, under Kneelgate, roaring isn't a word that so easily springs to mind.

The tournament started quite well but let's be honest the entertainment overall has been absolutely terrible and a lot of games have been like watching league 2 football.
