- It's not too often that you see early Vipers these days, and even less often do they have a Hellcat Redeye swap under the hood like the one that Rickie brought from @throtl. He’s up against Clayton’s fifth-gen Viper which is still rocking the OG 8.4 V10, with a little laughing gas to boot. Sure they’re both Vipers, but the name is about the only thing they've got in common.

Literally was made from the factory as a Final Destination movie clip. First gens didn't have any driver aids, no TC, no SC, etc. That's why it's so cheap to get motors from the first gens, cause the car it came out of doesn't exist in one piece anymore 😂

Great cars, drivers and races. Thats one of the best of the series.
That is the Achilles Heel to this series. More money in the car then time in it to be able to race it properly.

@@VadeSatana A lot of these cars that are set up to drag are set up for a prepped track, not a surface like this. It's why you see soooo many of the cars spinning their tires halfway down the track.

Haha as the owner of the white viper. I’ll say. It was amazing being on that show. Like didn’t know who I was going to race till I got there and racing that “850” drag machine was fun. The guys are as cool in person as they are on screen. The editing was on point and that’s the biggest thing I was waiting to see.
Will say the nitrous was on but traction and fun dodge electronics kept messing things up. But hey it was fun. Win or lose. Car nitrous doesn’t kick in until 2nd gear and next time need to use DR. when I did try to launch harder it wheel hopped badly so I had to let out. Then after that it was over. Throtl car would left a tire whenever it would launch. The thing was insane

@@jeremysoto4596 yea it’s a roll race car and from a roll it scoots. Doing couple other things to preparation for Tx2k. So it will be back up and running. Thought the launching it with nitrous I’ll for sure need a tire. 1 gear and 300 shot even progressed still would blow the tires off anything other than a DR.

The viper chassis I think is 1 of the most underappreciated American chassis definitely from dodge
I thought they had bad understeer issues and downforce problems at speeds..
@z ack i mean that's a pretty vague comment.. a stock 1993 rt10 isn't the same as a 2017 ACR, and neither of those are the same as a built racecar.. under steer or "downforce problems" never stopped them from being competitive race cars, or stopped them from being fun street cars..
The true Op American car. Seriously such an awesome car. I wish it had been as attainable and as popular as the Corvette. But honestly if they had made more it just means that more would have been crashed lol. The 05 Ford gt would get my pick over any other American car. A c7 blue devil or z06 with a rowdy cam takes second place. A viper of any vintage would be the third car in my American dream garage. I would really just want one to send to Calvo in Texas and get that 2000 hp face slapping speed
Definitely the most visually appealing personally that's for sure!
Not that its underapprecited, just that there aren't many out there. Dealers were charging $1,000,000 and the like 20 people in America who have them keep them as investments.
Not to mention performance per dollar, the Corvette is a better pick.
My technical school had a viper. There was a lot of wiring issues myself and my class re did the wiring harness and got it running. Hooked up a gas tank from a Chevy S10 ratchet strapped it to the trunk and did donuts in the staff parking lot until the tires blew off. I got suspended for 3 weeks of my junior year😅 my shop teacher was impressed though.

I wish they would put torque numbers up with the HP would definitely be a number I want to see in a race like this.
Throtl viper needs a complete suspension overhaul. The stance on it right now gives it very minimal traction on the front wheels to keep it straight. Once they do that thing will be a safe ripper

Hell yeah, remember watching this whole build series from throtl last summer haha, part of my morning routine
1) Those were the best hand drops ever!
2) These editors have me worried that I'll spit out my drink every time I watch these episodes, because they are hilarious with comedic timing.

The sound of the Hellcat motor in that viper is so unique! Love it! I’m assuming it’s because of the exhaust design of the viper cars (side exit)
Funnily enough, that gen of Viper had rear exits, and I believe (don't quote me) that they kept it that way. But I still agree, that sound is beautiful.

I always loved the GTS body. There was and is nothing like it from the U.S. market. Amazing driving from throttlehouse. Most people would fishtail and spin out from a dig most likely with all that power.

Yellow GTS with black stripes was my dream car as a kid. Still on the list haha. It's actually surprising how 'cheap' the old GTS's have stayed. Even the mid 2000s srt-10's are attainable. Sadly, my current top dream car (911 GT3 RS) isn't gonna happen until I can cash out my retirement and yolo a chunk of it on one in 30+ years lol.

Basically Dodge called them and asked "Hey do you wanna come to roadkill nights 🌙🏁 😏? " They responded yes and then Dodge was like - "ok great. Take this (a redeye) and here's a check. Find a car to put this in and come race in a couple weeks"

Vipers are all about traction off the line. If you don’t have it, you will lose to most anything that decently fast. Roll race the white Viper would have won. No chance against that red Viper with the tire it had on. Nice races and loved both cars. Would have preferred to see a Gen 5 Viper motor in the red viper over the Hellcat motor though.
I've always been kinda "meh" on Vipers, but both of these are amazing, and that Hellcat swapped one is ridonkulous! You need a trailer to carry your cojones in for driving it, but Hellscat yeah!

@Anthony Rowland The Hellcat engine is 125lbs lighter than an 8.3L Viper engine. When my 8.4 shits the bed, I've considered swapping in an aluminum 448ci Hemi with Redeye s/c, would save my car 175lbs and shift the weight further back.
