Someone almost 20 years younger than myself, turned me onto Cake LONG ago. He unfortunately succumbed to cancer. But.. I am still a Cake fan & see them every time they come to Toronto!
I lived in San Francisco for years. In the early 90s, a woman I worked with took me to a free lunchtime show to see a band from her hometown of Sacramento….it was Cake. I’ve been a fan ever since. 🎂
@Bobaganush26, Cake never was mainstream, there music just came out at the time people were wanting something different, and they got popular. True fans will always be just that, fans... :)
I remember Cake from my teenage years with their song Going the Distance, I wonder why a band this good didn't stay mainstream?
