I'm still watching this amazing performance every day. This was definately the best performance in Idol history. I watched the whole show and George's vocals were superior (even with a cold). He sings this powerful song so tenderly and with such emotion it brings me to tears. He's so talented and generous. Like I said before, beautiful song, beautiful man. I have rediscovered my love for his music from this inspiring performance. I wish he was touring closer to where I live. Love him!
i saw this when it aired.. he was actually sick and he still did amazing!! God please take his soul with you!! we are all sinners.. please forgive us and please forgive George Michael and take him into your kingdom!! so sad.
He was one of the most underrated artists. His singing talent, songwriting, producing was magical. Lyrically, he was able to write some if the most amazing songs I have ever heard.

if you sit and clear your mind and just listen to the man - you will be overcome with emotion. God, please give us time.... thank you Jesus, for George Michael! And I love how he doesn't sanitize his songs for radio nowadays when performing live and says Jesus in several of them, not just Jesus to a Child. He is truly the greatest vocalist, songwriter, producer and performer of the past 30 years.
Actually, if you didnt see the show, before he sung he asked the audience to forgive his voice as he was sick with a nasty flu and wasn't even going to perform but pulled it together. He still had a exceptional performance even being sick with the flu. Great Job. I never knew what this song meant until that night it changed forever how I looked at George Micheal & stopped judging people and looked hard at myself in the mirror. Thank you for this song George. Thank you.

I listen to this every day for inspritation. He's a true musical genius. Met him in '89 & cherish the picture I had taken with him. Such a gentleman, kind & gracious. He was on vacation in Mexico & still took the time to take a picture w fans. A day I'll never forget.
This was a total treat to see last night. George just doesn't do TV. His gift is surely missed by most, but to this day he is the finest male singer in the world. I have always been a fan of his music - I love his voice! Even with a cold...he can still sing incredibly! The song certainly makes you check your priorities and what's important in life!
I loved this song 20 years ago when I was in college and I love it now...funny how the lyrics ring true even decades later. He didn't even need to mention he had a cold...he did AWESOME!

I miss the 80's and early 90's - best era in music industry (George, Madonna, Bryan Adams, Whitney Houston, Belinda Carlisle, Tina Turner, Sandra, Cher, Michael & Janet Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, A-HA, Paula Abdul, Laura Branigan, Depeche Mode, Enigma, Sade and many others). Oh George Michael, why did you have to come back after all these years. His performance is nothing short of Amazing. Once againg George Michael proves to the world what a music superstar he is. You rarely ever see such a performance to his level where he embraces every word of that song and connects to it. Gosh, I was blown away. Great Job Mr. George Michael.
Wish the press would stop slating him...just like Michael Jackson George Michael should be praised for his amazing talent as a singer, songwriter and amazing performer have seen him twice 1987 Faith Tour in Birmingham UK & then 2007 during his Five Live tour he's gotten better with age! This song is one of my all time favourites, such emotion and soul in the lyrics!
Got to attend the show in Houston. We had such a great time! The crowd was dancing non-stop. George delivered a knock-out performance. And he can dance, too! Not bad for a 45 year old man. Vocals were incredible live. I have always said he is probably the best and most consistent live performer today-- and the Idol performance is proof of that. Amazing even with a cold! Humble, honest, socially conscious and delightful. Young stars of today need to watch and see how a true pro does it!
George sang this song for a reason. This song calls out all the rich people of the world. It calls out all those people that turn their backs on the needy of the world.

I'm not an American Idol fan or a huge George Michael fan, but tuned in when I heard he would be on the show. I was stunned by his emotional performance. Like someone else said, it was one of those songs that you don't want to end. I had chills. Bravo George!
I previously missed the whole George Michael/Wham/troubled career/troubled life of this artist. But after seeing this emotional performance on AI; I was hooked. I still can't watch or listen without getting emotional. Beautiful song, great voice, and one of the best live performances to ever come from my TV. Bravo GM. That's how to deliver a song, with heart, with emotion, with conviction, and with a great voice! I still feel each and every word.
I have to have a bone marrow transplant soon & I will be listening to all his soothing songs while in there to keep my mind off the procedure & while in my room recovering.

I think George Michael is a great singer and also song writer. This song has got so much power in its lyrics that I can´t get why is it that some of us keep on arguing stupidity. Even though it wasn't one of his best performance, there's something about this one that touched my soul. I hope you can feel it to, because that's what makes this song special.

God, if you didn't have tears in your eyes when experiencing this you are dead to this world. This man is a genius. Make fun of his misadventures, but it made him become his true self. My favorite is "Jesus to a Child". This was featured in a clip from Nip/Tuck (Conor McNamara 52.Season: 4 Episode: 8 First Aired: 10/24/2006) that was awesome! Whoever placed that in the show I give my ultimate thanks. God Bless you George Michael!

I saw him last summer in scandinavia. Really worth seeing. He totally rocked the arena and we really danced our way to freedom! :)
