Thanks for this list. Ruth Langmore summed this list "I don't know sh!+ about f*ck". Now it is time to Shut Up.
Iâve had terrible experiences throughout life . Tragedy after tragedy. Losing my mom in my late teens. Losing my older brother shortly after. Losing my close friends while in the marines. Watching my father lose everything and go bankrupt afterwards and through it all was pain. But it made me realize just how much I am capable of. âTerrible experiences poses the riddle of showing whether the person who has them is not terrible.â I realized just how much strength and courage I had, all thanks to painful and terrible experiences. I came out the other side, which again, showed me just how strong I truly was. Had it not been for those experiences, I may have not been this tough, and had this perspective on life. I take everything with a grain of salt now. And am much more calm and collected now. But that came through an enormous amount of persistence and resilience via- pain. I donât welcome this upon anyone, itâs just a nice tool or fresh reminder that lifeâs tragedy doesnât make you a tragedy in it of itself. It provides oppurtunity to grow through it.
Difficult things are good for you. Excellent.
Ryan! This is an awesome video, very done and put together! The takeaway from this is to take action and make a decision and move on and up!
Not sure why Iâm just finding this, I often listen to Stoicism on YT. Anyway, THANK YOU! Concise and clear delivery.
Your videos are like healing remedies for the soul.. Thank you â€ïž
I was on exercise in the Australian army at Shoalwater Bay on the central Queensland coast.
It was a defensive activity so we had to dig out fighting pits, sleeping bays, communication trenches, put up wire obstacles, go on patrol etc.
One hot day a grass fire came through our position. We were told to stay put. The fire passed and we were all overheated and coughing from the smoke. Then it started to rain and filled up our pits, and after sunset it got windy and cold with even more rain. At the end of the Ex there was a fighting withdrawal at night and long fast march of 40km to break contact. We could only laugh.
Thank You. Life changing perspectives.
Outstanding information, with world crisis, rising inflation and economic instability due to poor governance, consider digital assets as a means to attain financial freedom.
Building wealth indeed requires good habits, like investing in solid opportunities such as digital currencies. Thank so much for the advice been seeking means of being successful in the digital market,do you recommend any professional broker Iâm ready.
Anna Dorris Arthur is the best Iâve encountered so far, so I recommend her.
I'm curious to know more about the expert broker you're considering. Could you share some details about their experience and why you believe they might be a good fit for peopleâs trading.
good reputation donât lie makes me 17k weekly Iâm so happy and I support the work of God now, the ability to manage risks is what makes me believe.
It's Good to find something which constantly reminds me of Life changing wisdoms đ
I LOVE these compilation videos of 50 lessons. I don't learn well from reading so these videos are very valuable for me.
you could not have put this video out at a better time. thank you!
2:19 The Key to freedom.
I love how you (almost) always wear band t-shirts!
Bordering on cliché at this point
Negative visualization honestly was one of the biggest components of curing my anxiety. Now, when I say my anxiety is "cured" I don't mean it's gone. Anxiety is natural. I mean it no longer affects my life in the toxic way it did before. I don't ruminate on it or try to push it away.
"Don't be scared, be prepared."
It's gonna sound silly but the new movie, Inside-Out 2, actually spelled this out so perfectly and this is such a great way to sum it up.
Joy is also stoic asf and drops a stoic one-liner in there
Absolutely. Anxiety is telling you that something is about to happen. Itâs up to you to react appropriately. Fight, flight, or something in between; itâs up to us to overcome.
Glad to hear your making progress â€
@@wilsonwong8176 I'll have to watch those movies with my daughter sometime. They look cute :)
@@mcgritty8842 thank you! It's honestly wild to picture myself now vs. myself 10-15 years ago. I used to lie awake for hours at night having panic attacks thinking about situations both real and imagined that made me anxious. Could have been anything from something I said 10 years ago that hurt someone's feelings to the thought that someone could be trying to kill me right now and they could break in any second to get me.
Now I just kind of accept it and let it go if it's something I can't control. "I can't control the way someone feels because of my past actions, but I can avoid repeating the same action." "Yeah, there is a miniscule possibility that someone could come in while I'm sleeping to kill me. Nothing I can do about it in that case. Time to sleep."
this video is epic. thank you. source helps 'course. thanks since the emails . great keeper of a video.
Great meditation to start the day. Good reminder of how to live like the 2%.
Good shit Ryanâ€
This is so good itâs crazy âŠ..đ„đ€đ
This was a good video. I also appreciate how marcusaurelias is almost a single syllable word.
Temporal Telepathy, Telepathy through time. One of the influences/presences you feel in your recordings at the time of the recording comes from me viewing it in the future here on youtube. I think we can send messages through time via this.
Love to see Daily Stoic do an SMS service and drop a nugget of wisdom each day. The open/read rate would be about 98% vs the 20% email. Iâd pay $10 a year for it if done right.
Great idea
I use a one liner journal like Ryan. Thereâs my daily nugget
Thereâs a cool app called stoic that has daily quotes, daily journal, meditation guides, and more might be worth checking out!
It's not to read enough or a lot, is to seek knowledge - the more knowledge you acquire, the more question(s) you see and ask and maybe get answered.
Life has growing pains. Comfort and growth seldom ride the same horse.
Powerful! Thank you!
I wish you could talk to my neighbor. Dude needs a serious wake up call to change his ways of thinking and always being so angry at everything.
I could use a talk too đ đâ€â€
Seriously though, philosophy became what it is because of discussion between individuals; not just listening to a viewpoint.
Modern philosophers need to create a place to connect with each other and discuss deep thoughts
What a great message for today! Thank you.
17:53 blood is still getting shat on so many many years later ouch
Love it! What a great message to elevate my day!
Another fantastic video, thanks!
Thank you for the msg
Great list.
Great meditation to start the day to keep living like the 2%.
Donât worry about the mythical 2%. Work on your own 100%.
Great video, thanks
It's interesting that the Stoics formed independantly 500 years after Buddhism (or did they?).
The point of the âthis is what I trained forâ quote isnât that EVERY moment is what you trained for-lots of moments are going to be good times to do more training, and if training is what you trained for then we are getting into some semantic silliness-it is that when moments arise in which there is a need for action (most action is not necessary) you should not cling to your books and weights to learn one more thing or do one more rep (or your covers for 5 more minutes in bed), but apply what you have and who you are to the task at hand until the task is done.
Do you know what happens to performers who only perform and do not continue to practice? They get worse.
Thanks broskie! đȘ

âYour life sucks because your thoughts suck.â Goddamn. That one hit a nerve, but youâre absolutely right. Thanks. đđŒ
I think these truths only seem harsh when a person is ignorant of them or tries to resist them. Otherwise they are incredibly liberating.

20 minutes of gold
Stoicism is like edging. You are almost spirituality but not quite there yet.
Can you make a video specifically on stoic views on divorce? Iâm sure this would help a lot of men and women going through or recovering from it. Thanks Ryan.
I need to be a part of the notification gang.
this is important can you slow down when you talk?
That's not how hospitals are supposed to work at all though.

It has been said that 100 billion people were born, lived, and died before we showed up. How many of those 100 billion people do we know anything about?

Ryan desevers to be nationally known. He's changed my life. Whenever I forgot what the stoics have taught I always jump on one of Ryan's books and remember how silly I am stressed out about a situation. Sometimes stoicism scares me of how true it is.
He already is. Infact he is known all over the world
His new book is on the number 1 best seller list
@user-fc7zc8tm2u that's good to know. He desevers it. I'm currently reading "Ego Is The Enemy." Man what an impact it's had. But im also reading "Lives Of The Stoics." Man what an amazing impact both these books have had. But like him, so many followers of his. I always start my day off with flipping to a random page in Marcus Aurelius's "Medations." It gets me excited to know I get to practice what he talked about in his journal. I love stoicism. I really appreciate Ryan for making it so much easier to understand, with videos like this. đ
He may not want that. I really like his work but some Stoic communities out there, like Reddit for example, are very judgmental and even nasty towards Ryan specifically.
World-wide
I weed out new people fast. I ask. " what if you find out what you thought was correct isn't? Would you want it know? "
There are two answers.
1. Yes.
2. Um, no or (my favorite) that depends.
hey Steve, could you elaborate? Do you mean "known" as in, the person being called out for being incorrect?
@@javiermeza2557 if someone can't handle admitting they WERE past tense they are not capable of handling truth so why waste any time on them
@@javiermeza2557itâs a probing question. If the person wants to know the truth, they are open to ideas. If they donât want to know, they are closed minded and will refuse to listen. In my experience, people who are closed minded are not fun to be around and can be very pushy with their ideas (whether right or wrong). Sometimes just being open to listening to an idea that contradicts your beliefs can lead to amazing conversations and new ideas
