    I sometimes get a puff of smoke on start ups, it only last a second then goes away. I’ve checked compression and leak down tests on engine and passes them. Only thing i haven’t checked is my turbo. Great video.

      Not necessarily, if you only get a puff of smoke on your start ups and if it only lasts for a few seconds then it’s more than likely a build up of condensation. Completely harmless, nothing to worry about.

    You shouldn't be using steel pliers to check movement of the turbo compressor wheel as every small scuff will change the balance of the turbo. Balancing the turbo requires specialist machinery. Cloth on the tips or use your fingers.

    going back into engine. A OCC can solve that problem.

      Your Citroen C4 is working perfectly fine! The motor and turbo is completely seperate :) I'm a French NUT! Depending on the motor it could of been used by anyone from PSA/Peugeot/Citroen/BMW/Mini/Jaguar/Volvo/Ford.
      Grab your VIN number. Punch it into a parts catalog to grab your motor code. Search for problems with that motor and turbo.
      Check all intercooler pipes are flush to the end of the mounts. Tightened. Unplug your boost sensor to see if any change. Could indicate faulty sensor or leak. Do the same with air temp sensor and MAF. Grab an OBD2 scanner off eBay/AliExpress and 'Car scanner's for Android. Run through it and learn.
      These are Dakar Rally cars! Anyone who shits on French don't know what they are on about!
      If the turbo is knackered check the actuator sensor. If it's still stuffed grab a Melett (same guys as Garrett).
      The turbo's on these will take a beating all day if you have ran good oil. 200000km's is definitely not unheard of!

It would sure be a weird coincidence that my turbo started going bad at the same time a new exhaust was installed, but would you mind sharing your thoughts? I've driven the car maybe 5 or 6 times since the exhaust was installed and it's still a fair amount of smoke. If you do everything correctly that does not affect the engine, but that is lot of steps, lots of work. For example you have to change car computer or program, depends of model. Deleting turbo is not just taking it out mechanical parts. And at the end you will get extremely slow car.

      On some vehicles a valve cover is vented by a breather cap with a hose going into the ductwork or housing ahead of the compressor wheel, and during boost crankcase blowby vapors and oil will be sent there, since the pcv valve must be closed when under boost conditions. This oil might be misdiagnosed as from a leaking turbo seal.

      On the older Zafira's you can do a pedal test to double check there are no stored codes.
      Before starting the car, push down the throat and brake peddle and keep depressed. Then whilst depressed, turn the ignition round stopping short of starting the car.
      Depending on the model will depend how a code is displayed. The really old ones will flash a code using the EML, count howa many flashes there are and that's your fault code.
      There will be a pause in the flash, and you are looking four four sets of flashes.
      For example;
      Flash, Flash Flash, Pause Flash Flash, Pause, Flash, Flash, Flash, Flash, Flash, Pause, Flash. Stop
      This would be 3251.
      Ten flashes is a zero.
      Hope that helps, for error codes at least.

    My Turbocharger from F30 BMW 320I 2014 is leaking oil, the mechanic did change the sealing and a oil line,but after 2 days its started leaking again. He look for some damage but couldn't see anything that caused leaking. He says maybe there is some mini crack where it leaking from the turbocharger it self.IS this possible ? Can some one help me please.

    • @Work_G
      @Work_G  Před 3 lety

      In theory it could be mini crack and its starts leaking under pressure if seals and line changed properly. But may be its not leaking from turbo, but around and just drips there if leak is from outside, if it is inline oil leak maybe oil separator problems. This is just a guess, hope it helps!
