Excellent job of teaching quilters how important it is to cut, pin, and sew accurately. I’ve been quilting since 1974 and have only heard one other person explain “where” to put your pins so the seams don’t move when sewing. I open my seams and pin this way and have accurate size blocks. No trimming needed. Good job!
Thanks so much for your encouraging comment, Jan! We’re happy you’re enjoying these tutorial! -Michelle

Lovely!
It sure is! Thanks so much for watching. -Michelle
Thank you Tammy! I so appreciate your teaching about all the pinning to help us produce more exact results. BUT, would you PLEASE make a video with that degree of detail for the sashing?!? This is always the area where I struggle. Even when my blocks measure a perfect 12.5 x 12.5, I always struggle with getting the cornerstones to match up in the right places. I’ve gotten to where I avoid all quilts with sashing and cornerstones. I’d soooo appreciate your level of detail when completing that next step! I’d bet I’m not the only new quilter that struggles with sashing and cornerstones…🤔
Hi Maureen - We're very happy that you enjoyed this fun tutorial with Tammy! We'll be sure to share your feedback and suggestion with her :) Thanks so much for watching! -Michelle

❤this tutorial! How can I get this kit?? I definitely want one. ❤
Hi Karyn - You can sign up for the Cherish Reserve here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/p14991 -Michelle
What are the little blue tabs you use when you see? What are they for?
Hi Chey - These are considered "leaders and enders". They're just scraps we use/reuse to start and end our sewing so that we're not getting our threads tangled. Hope this makes sense :) -Michelle
Tammy, what are the green handled scissors you are using called? Thank you
These are Karen Kay Buckley scissors. I love using this size for trimming wool appliqué: www.shabbyfabrics.com/p133606 -Michelle
Great pattern . Where can I find it please
Happy that you love this pattern!😊 You can find this project here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/p149919/cherish-quilt-kit Hope this helps! - Abby
What is the blue piece that you have under the needle before and after you sew the seam?
Hi Mary - These pieces of fabrics would be considered “leaders and enders”. Using a scrap piece of fabric at the beginning and end of your sewing allows for something to be underneath of your machine’s foot, and helps eliminate long tangled threads. It’s not necessary to do this. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
I am new to sewing. Why are you using the blue pieces of cloth?
Hi Tracie! Great observation - these pieces of fabrics would be considered “leaders and enders”. Using a scrap piece of fabric at the beginning and end of your sewing allows for something to be underneath of your machine’s foot, and helps eliminate long tangled threads. It’s not necessary to do this. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
Very new to sewing. When you were sewing you ended on a little tiny light blue rectangle. Why do we need to do that? Trying to understand the purpose of it. Thank you!
Hi Dee - These pieces of fabrics would be considered “leaders and enders”. Using a scrap piece of fabric at the beginning and end of your sewing allows for something to be underneath of your machine’s foot, and helps eliminate long tangled threads. It’s not necessary to do this. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
@@ShabbyFabrics I just watch a video that explained why it’s done. Thank you!!
