- After seeing comments about the filter box I put this little video up after the unboxing video years ago
Turns out I was wrong in my hot take about not being able to open the filter box.
You can. It’s just insanely stuck at first for some people’s machines.

I couldn't even get the box off the sander at first. I had to pull so hard I was scared of breaking it. So for anyone else struggling with that first step - you're pulling/waggling it straight back from the sander body. The instructions say 'pull down!'
Your screwdriver tip really helped too. Not a cat in hell's chance of opening the filter box otherwise. So thanks so much for your help.

Thank you for this. I wonder who works at Bosch - even getting the battery out is a struggle for me because my hands aren't big and strong. The whole point of power tools should be to reduce the strength and effort needed. Thanks again.

I could never get it off so was emptying it through the hole... incredibly inefficient. Took a screwdriver to it tonight after seeing this video. It's so difficult to get off that I did cause a tiny bit of damage to the plastic on the rim with the blade, but the cover now comes off much more easily without the need for the screwdriver. A silly design, which is such a shame - the sander itself is excellent.
Yeah my tools get beat up a bit eventually anyway so a scuff here and there on a utility item just shows it gets used. My Makita stackable cases are the worse since the clips jam I’ve literally smashed them open with anything to hand.
Now I’m thinking sander to sand the clips down hah

Si lo abres por el lado opuesto, tirando del centro con la uña, se abre sin mucho esfuerzo. Yo lo probé y va muy bien. Lo abrí varias veces. Espero que os sirva.

Terrible. So hard to open and finally all the dust spreaded out 😡. Thought i was the only one with problems. I was wrong, it is a real inconvenience to buy this model.

I'm lucky my screwdriver didn't take off my finger. Terrible design, if they didn't want you to open the filter they shouldn't have put the tab there.
