The only disappointment I had was they left “listen to the music” by the doobie brothers out of the movie. Lol

I Lived there in Orange County Cali, Greg Laurie Baptized me there at Pirates Cove in 1982. That is my childhood beach with many memories and baptism. Too bad the movie did NOT mention the HUGE numbers of miracles and healings GOD did, and sad of the rumors and lies that are still out there of Lonnie Frisbee. They tried to cancel him out, but GOD is back to set the story straight. We see GOD using so many coming from broken backgrounds as HE did in the early Church. Lonnie’s Brother and Close friend share the truth on CZcams. Calvary Chapel could not handle the continual outpouring of the Holy Spirit and was quenched, and they became an only Word teaching Church. I attended Calvary Chapel for a few years and witnessed the structure that quenched Holy Spirit. But thus the Vineyard Churches were then birthed embracing both GOD’s Word and the gifts of Holy Spirit. I and many others transitioned to the Vineyard which also flourished across the country with John Wimber and Lonnie Frisbee and many others in its early days. GOD will have HIS way and HIS SPIRIT will again fall on those that are hungry and open to whatever Holy Spirit will do, and those that criticize will lose out and be empty .

He was in a 6 month relationship with a man, Chuck Smith and John Wimber knew about it. That’s why Wimber parted ways with Lonnie and he left the Vineyard church. His wife even said he would go to gay bars late at night, many people knew about his homosexual tendencies. Lonnie whitewashed his autobiography because of his pride, goes to show you he probably didn’t truly have a repentant heart. Lonnie got aids and died of his sinful lifestyle, period. You don’t lie about things like that and tell the whole world about it, it’s a false testimony and he got judged for it. Sad to say many on here don’t know the whole story about Lonnie, he was not a good witness for Christ if you look at his life as a whole. Even the director has a guilty look on his face for emitting that part out of the movie. Why? Because Lonnie wasn’t a good witness for Christ …and they’re sitting there making money off of this whole hype media storm to make it look like Lonnie didn’t have many questionable issues going on there wit him. Do some research, stop idolizing men. This movie is not being honest or what went on with the Jesus movement

The Jesus Revolution was about the move of God in the 70's and how it impacted countless for Christ Jesus. Lonnie played a pivotable role in that, along with Chuck Smith. Yes, Lonnie fell. Yes, Lonnie sinned. But how he loved the Lord Jesus Christ. At the very end, when he breathed his last breath, only Christ knew his heart. If Lonnie confessed his sins and rededicated his life for Christ, I am confident he is with the Lord Jesus Christ.

He, his brother and several of his room mates have categorically said he never lived a gay lifestyle. Read his autobiography. He admits to occasionally falling into sexual sin as a result of severe sexual abuse as a child, but was always repentant after falling, did not identify as gay or follow a gay lifestyle. Never forget that God used a donkey in the old testament when He spoke through that animal to deliver His message. God chooses who He will use, and when He will use them for the purpose of His Kingdom, regardless of the particular earthen vessel.
Pastor Chuck Smith used to always say, "God is not looking as much for ability (the most intellectual, talented, etc.), but rather He is looking for availability and a willing heart." Pastor Chuck Smith, Lonnie Frisbee, and Greg Laurie all made themselves available to be used by the Holy Spirit right where they were during that time in history. Lonnie’s brother contends that Lonnie was not attracted to men. Lonnie was a part of the artist culture and he found great acceptance there. The art culture is very open to new experiences and Lonnie was in great need of acceptance. He felt men seemed to abandon him repeatedly (fathers, Chuck….) and the art culture did not. Because of the abuse Lonnie experienced as a child. He was very vulnerable. I don’t really want to say anything more because I’m probably going to ruffle feathers.

I had never heard about Lonnie Frisbee until a couple days ago .
What a touching story !! Such a frail yet dedicated man !
Also I brought back a memory for me .
When I was 15 someone invited me to something called the Chi Roe house in Ohio in 1974 .
I went to a few meetings and then we moved out of state.
But before we moved even though I didn't believe in God I remember feeling so good in that meeting .
I was converted 7 years later at a pentecostal church that was on fire.
Who knows if we hadn't moved I might have converted right there.
It was after seeing some video about the Jesus people movement that I realized that the Chi Roe house was one of their houses.

There's opinion that the movie should not lionize Lonnie Frisbee BECAUSE his double life was right there from the start and was continuous throughout his life. He did not just fall while in Florida. There's also the claim that 80% of those baptized have to this day kept to Christian values. No matter. Let's all continue to pray for everybody involved, including for Timothy Leary, the controversial ex-Harvard Professor in Psychology whose private life seemed more horrible harrowing than Lonnie's. AND let's pray for ourselves and our dystopian times. Per Richard Thomas: This passage in St. Paul’s Second Letter to the Thessalonians is, I believe, very important to understanding our times. These times are difficult! In the West we are seeing a very troubling cultural wave of surprising speed and ferocity, deforming in the name of “reforming” religion, secular power/government, even the military, even our school systems, everything, everywhere. It is a force attacking human foundations - of faith in God, of human nature, of marriage, of the natural moral law as God has placed it in human conscience, indeed a force seeking to redefine humanity, God, government, right and wrong, truth and lie, life itself. I would say it is a force attacking reason and upending it, to leave in the wake and “normalize” insanity. It is the force, I would say, of satan unleashed. It is death, seeking to trample into the dirt all that is good, noble, and true......
What are we to do? The mortal danger is made clear in this passage. There are those perishing and there are those to be saved, to be gathered into His peace, His love, His Truth, eternally. The mortal danger is to be among those who “have not accepted the love of truth so that they may be saved” (verse 10). The dying world is rejecting Truth, and is seeking fantasy!
Gender dysphoria is perhaps the most blatant and clear example of the bold-faced denial of undeniable reality, in these days. A man is simply not a woman, and cannot ever be. No matter the outward dress, the lipstick, the chemicals, the surgeries, the wishes or demands or laws or pretenses, a man will never become a mother, he will never conceive new life within himself and bear a child. God and God alone creates a child, a new and unique human person, through the generative powers He placed in a man of His creation and a woman of His creation, by His intention and design.
Gender dysphoria is a very clear example of the rejection of God’s design and will - in whose will our vocation to holiness and happiness is to be found and fulfilled. But in our times we see so many ways and examples of modern man’s rejection of God, and supplanted by his own self-obsessed will, and wishes, and concerns, and ideas. Not seeking the saving Truth of God, but seeking instead the Self according to one’s own imagined “self”, modern mankind has continued step after step to further and further distance himself from God, His will and ways. Thus same-sex unions and even “marriages”, even “adoptions” of children, thus contraception and abortion, thus crimes against humanity of every sort: murders, rapes, enslavement, stealing, lying, hating, … , man against man, man against God, man against himself. The road away from God is the road to death.
What are we to do? Seek Truth in the love of Truth; embrace Truth in the communion of divine holiness, our vocation, our destiny. Rest in Him in the works of every day. He is coming, and soon. Remain faithful, in Him, until the end:
2 Thess 2:13 But we ought to give thanks to God for you always, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in truth.
14 To this end he has [also] called you through our gospel to possess the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught….

Thank you to any pervert who lives in society and they choose not to get help for their problems. Sin is a cycle of death and destruction. The minute you take sin of any kind and you refuse to fight against it. You've already lost.
